im in the grocery store last night and in front of me in the line are these two pretty overweight ladies in raggy clothes had 2 kids each by there side.....They have, I would say 50 items, on the checkout stand and 48 of them where, either snakcakes, dororito's, coke pepsi, sugar cereals , donuts,candy bars of all kinds ...basicly all junk food ..not a veggie or a heathly food to be seen.. and of course she wips out her medicad food stamp card and its ALL free on the taxpayers....should there be a law against buying all this junkfood only with your foodstamps???

However, they should be presented with more guidelines on how to eat properly.

The goverment should spend just a little bit to send these people qaurterly news letters with health tips and good eating habits.

im not saying they should not be allowed to buy the stuff but if 95% of it is JUNK food they should be made to pay for it and not you and me IMHO... and if they are at a store at 3pm why can't they be WORKING a real job to or how the taxpayers will pay for this ladies health costs when she eats her way to sickness with twinkies as her main staple...thats another story though sadly

Alright then bernie, then we set up a restriction on junk food. It shouldnt be hard for manufacturer's to code the UPC to desiginate it as a 'junk food' item.

They should do what they like with the foodstamps. You can't mandate eating habits. I agree that it's disgusting, especially since they're passing the habits on to their kids (their kids should sue them when they're older) but you can't have the gov't regulating what people can eat.

The FDA needs to close, too, but that's another topic.

I Know someone who works in a Pharmacy and this customer comes in to pick up his cancer medication.. He was on State Aid.. Under state law the customer is charged One Dollar and if he says he cant afford the Dollar the state eats the co-pay...Well he says he cant afford the dollar co-pay and what does he do right after he gets his cancer medication for free he walks to the front of the store and buys a pack of cigarettes.. Unbelievable..

I think each decides what to do with their own body, health and looks... If she wants look like an overweight hipo, why would that be a problem for you???... I mean... those are HER foodstamps.
