Should the NFL waited 24 hours before they announce the Steelers/Bengals game on SNF in week17?

I assume the NFL thought Denver would win and it would be a must win for the Bengals in week 17 and either the Bengals would win the division or be out of the playoffs. Now that the Bengals won on MNF the game does not seem as big. Both teams are going to have to play next week with the winner getting a wildcard team at home and the loser going to the Colts. If they both win one gets to go to NE and the other Denver. Pick your poison. Not that much to play for.

I bet the NFL would have chosen a different game if they waited until Tuesday morning. The Falcons/Panthers is a defacto playoff game and the playoffs could have started 8:30 PM on Sunday. Lose and go home.

The Lions/Packers is even a bigger game with the winner getting the #2 seed and the loser the #6 seed. That is huge. Having to most likely go to Dallas, GB and then Seattle just to get to the Super Bowl is a huge task. But getting a week off, then a home game vs Dallas or ATL/Car or Zona before a possible trip to Seattle is a huge difference in probabilities of getting to the Super Bowl. There is a ton riding on this game.

NFL should have put the Falcons vs Panthers game on Sunday night........the other big games have both teams going to the playoffs.

Lose & you're done in the NFC South battle........

And the winner will having a losing record and host a playoff game - this game is a joke. GB Detroit makes more sense.

Absolutely they should have waited. I never thought I'd say this but the game should be that NFC South matchup lol.

You'd think the NFL would have figured stuff like this out by now. Must be other considerations though, that prevent them from this....logistic stuff...getting equipment in place, booking hotel rooms, the sale of commercials and probably 97 other things that would not occur to us.

Last three years, final SNF has been NFC East (Dallas). NBC wanted an AFC game this year. Fact.

They should have waited yes. The game is a snoozefest compared to the battle between Chargers and Chiefs where both try to get into the Playoffs. Or, perhaps the Lions and Packers game.

Cincinnati played on Monday Night. They gave them as much rest as possible. This is a no brainer.

Ugh, and now the NFL schedules both the Det/GB game and Car/Atl game at the same time. The 2 most important games of the day competing vs each other. Wish the NFL would have flexed Car/Atl to primetime Saturday night like they did last week. Who cares about some meaningless bowl game.

Sorry for those of you in Oakland or St. Louis you get to watch you crappy teams while other meaningful games are going on in the NFL. I guess the NFL is pushing this DirectTV thing hard.
