Isn't it just a fine ? Limos are fine. I believe taxis in LV ok. It used to be legal to have an open beer in Texas while driving. I'm sure it will get shot down wherever legal. A $100 fine seems about right.

How can they make it illegal for someone in the backseat to have an open container when it OK for the driver to have one?

I don't think it's legal for the driver to have an open container anywhere now. It once was.

I don't know where you people live, but here in Md its a no no...I had no idea you could drink in the back seat...

Doug , a Limo is a big difference...I use to drive a Limo (very briefly) it was a fun extra job though...One time i picked up this guy and his party of stoners...LOL, he asks me if I'm allowed to party with them...He ended up being a great tipper, of course he was bombed off his rocker! LOL, no I did not drink , I just politely said no thanks!

How about an RV, a Winnebago type thing. I think it's OK for the passengers to drink, as long as the driver isn't, likely illegal though.
