I will take Furcal as the strongest arm and Eckstein as the weakest in a landslide.

I wonder where Furacals fastball would land on the radar gun if he through a few from the mound.....over 100 I would think.

I agree, he probably could get it up to 100 off the mound. I'd be most curious to see what he could throw off a crow hop (like an outfielder). 110 maybe?

That would be a cool contest to go along with the Allstar Home Run Derby ... maybe put a guy on second and see who had the fastest ball to first or ...hell I don't know maybe center field .... three tries max so it would go quick....I swear I could go to sleep during the Home Run derby after the first round....LOL

LOL....crow-hop....dude your the catcher on that one :howdy: I remember a maniac from little league that used to try and kill me with the ball at third after a strike out...and then if I was pitching he would throw it back to the mound as hard as he could when I made a bad pitch.

Yeah as long as it didn't sail 20 feet over Gracie's head, Shawon was great!

Many scouts have said that Furcal could have a career on the mound if he ever flamed out at shortstop. He has that big a cannon.

Aside from him, though, I'd say Jose Reyes...the guy has a gun.

What about weakest arms guys? Does anyone even flirt with Eckstein in that department in your judgement?

That would be a cool All Star Game competition. All you need is a radar gun set up behind a mesh screen of some kind. The players can just run up to the screen and let it go as hard as they can...with the "tumble-roll" and everything...I would find that fun to watch....you're right...the HR derby isn't that interesting anymore...

You could also add fastest time around the bases...

Eckstein has the worst arm at SS.

Shannon Stewart has the worst arm of any OF. Worst arm at 1st base is Eric Hinske.

I'd agree with Eckstein...

I'll go with Juan Pierre though in the OF.

At least he didn't throw the ball into left field.......I'd rather see kids gun the ball to the 3rd baseman after a K than lob the ball over there like a puss...

Have you seen Stewart throw??? I've seen better arms in high school baseball.
