For those Shedeur Sanders haters (and I'm not a very big fan either) - there is a very plausible scenario where he just might become the starting QB for the Browns faster than any of the other rookie quarterbacks drafted before him with the exception of Cam Ward. Here it is:

Joe Flacco (QB1) at age 40 gets hurt or plays ineffectively
Kenny Pickett gets released or traded before the season starts (too many QB's in the room and he becomes odd man out)
Deshaun Watson remains on the IR
Shedeur Sanders beats out the other rookie Dillon Gabriel to become QB1

What do you think guys?

In retrospect, he might have been better off not getting drafted. As an undrafted free agent, he would have been able to "choose" his own team provided they showed a mutual interest in him. And yes, he would be a starter right away in the CFL. Think Warren Moon, Doug Flutie and Joe Theismann as examples of CFL QB's who went on to become stars in the NFL.

Winning the starting job will not in and by itself be the last laugh.

Proving everyone wrong by playing well and winning is last laugh worthy

Remember, every team in the NFL passed on him, several times, including Cleveland. Then again, many of those teams are not looking for a QB

I wish him well, as I do for everyone in life

I think it’s fairly likely
