Fox News personality Sean Hannity took time to laud Greenwald, tweeting: 'Wow. Great American. @CNN @NBCNews @JoeNBC (who calls the @POTUS a schmuck, liar, goon etc.). Watch and learn what respect for the office is.'

Along with praise also came some criticism, from social media users who saw the gesture quite differently.
One Twitter user wrote: 'You had someone take the pics, then you consciously posted on twitter. I don't need to know you to know you did this for attention.'

Before that, last July, a California street artist placed a miniature wall around the star - a jab at Trump's high-profile vow to build a massive barrier between the US and Mexico.
