Yes unfortuneatly the organ we use most to tell us what to bet can be our downfall as well, thats because we dont have just one mind but several working in conjunction to keep you happy. Problem is that the emotional part may overide the intelligent part making you have a bet that if not plain stupid, certainly goes against the grain as far as the Intelligent side worked out.

Many a time this part of your Brain says that a bet would be stupid but the part thats there to keep you happy will say bet, so the Emotional part makes a choice and usually says" what the fuck, its only money and I want my Man to be happy. Bet that bollocks" Of course there is a way to over-ride this runaway train.

While all this reasoning is Mental, you need to find a physical part of your body to bring some reality to the situation. Thankfully mother Nature has put in place a nice set of Testicles which at any sign of danger disappear up your guts. Sadly many Punters ignore what the Nuts do when the Emotional side of the Brain says " Hammer that cash down and feel good, go get them"

With a simple cupping of the hand to feel if they are there, you can demote the Brain to a secondary function in the selection process. No Nuts, no bet. Some Nuts, fair odds. Sackful, Sharp bet at probably the best odds going.

Remember, remember your Nuts, they are a very important part of your Arsenal against the Books. :drink:

Joking apart and I dont agree with hedging overall but in this Day the Exchanges are a godsend for locking in profit. As I said, its not the best long term strategy and should only be used on off the cuff bets, little though out bets or main bets where there's a ridiculous chance of getting beat. The FG in Cleveland last Year springs to mind, at the time I thought I had given away an easy €15 BUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :drink:

Once again, on a serious note its Human Nature to look for conformation of what their Brain tells them and there's plenty around to do that so training your Brain to ignore conformation is if not easy, certainly beneficial in betting strategies. :drink:

Of course it goes without saying that the older your Nuts get the less sensitive they are to line movement hence the reason Sharps lose their edge over time. Hot Sun and sleazy Bars accelerate the function, thats why Posters like VD are starting to sound square and unsure of their selections. :ohno: :drink:

Believe it or not I try not to watch Sports I bet on as it only leads to conclusions, and then you look for conformation of those conclusions, and then you bet those conformations regardless of the price offered, and when that price goes against you, you press up your bet, and when that bet loses you go ballistic and say"fuck it, I'm not watching any Sport anymore"

As Albert Einstei=n mc said "every step appears to be the unavoidable consequences of the preceding one, and in the end it beckons more clearly, total anihilation" I think He was talking about the World Arms Race but it works for Gambling. :drink:

That certainly makes sense and like I said, it gives us confirmation of what we want to bet but performances are rarely the same, thats why The Oddsmakers build in a league average to every game. The worst thing is when your figures say a Team is a good thing and you cannot bet them because you witnessed on TV their last debacle and thats what its all about, enjoy the Sport or Bet but rarely do the Two go together. :drink:
