Considering the scores in their games so far this season the line 43 seems a touch low, add to it that both teams have lost 2 secondary starters and are both thin at linebacker, and the over is starting to look a steal.

As we know, the books dont give their cash away, so what is their angle. The only things that stick out to me is both teams are essentially playing on the road in high altitude, which could affect the passing game, Cardinals O-line not giving McGown time and SF49ers thinking they have an advantage running the ball.

Any opinions welcome.:103631605

Thanks Ace, not sure I am on to something. It just looks too obvious and I'm completely useless at Totals.

Mark Lawrence was on 610WIP here in Philadelphia on Howard Eskin's show.

He gave some interesting stats for this game.

He said that this is a double revenge game for Arizona.
Both games last year against SF went into double overtime. Arizona lost both. This is a DOUBLE Revenge game for Arizona.

He also said that after losing two straight games, Arizona is 26-2 when they score 24 points or more in the next game.

Personally I like the over.. with this game as a nfl worldwide event (lol) I think the best way to promote it is with high scoring. with the humidity in mexico city both defenses will be winded... I see a 28-24 game sf win...

Good stuff lads, of course another worry to Arizona and the over is Barlow, he has had big games every time against them, so you can see SF49ers running the ball and success at that leads to you know what.

That high altitude in Mexico City must have some bearing on the total. CASH PLAYS said that both defenses will be winded. How about both offenses? I think Mexico City is about 6,000 feet high and if both teams are only getting there the day before they will not have time to become accustomed to the altitude. That would be my guess as to why the total is so low.

ESQAJM,
Yes what you say makes sense, maybe what were telling ourselves is to leave this game alone.

Problem is how does Arizona score more than 14 points without Warner?

forget the air issue. you guys and your open dome ideas, umps with cramps and now thin air effecting the defenses.

I guess the Offenses won't be breathing the same air Huh?

49'ers win here just on better talent and better team.

Denny Green is a horrible coach, no Kurt Warner though would it matter and the Zona D is a mess with injuries.

Not because of thin air, come on

Thin air

...does make a difference according to this article from SFGate.com - longer kicks (moreso than Denver) and less oxygen to breathe.
....
Sunday's game represents an unprecedented opportunity for Nedney and his Cardinals counterpart, Neil Rackers, to kick at high altitude. Never before have NFL kickers plied their trade at such altitude. Mexico City puts Denver's Mile High reputation to shame, being nearly 2,300 feet higher than the NFL's highest venue.
.....
Science lesson
The higher the altitude, the less the air pressure. The lower the air pressure, the fewer the air molecules. With fewer air molecules comes less oxygen, making it harder for athletes to catch their breath. But fewer air molecules also means less friction -- or drag -- on an object flying through the air. The less drag, the farther a ball -- or a person, in the case of Olympic long jumper Bob Beamon -- will travel.
