The TV ratings just got cut in half with the Marlins knocking out the Cubs.
If the Cubs had won this series, you just know the conspiracy theorists would have been coming out of the woodwork saying "Major League Baseball and FOX fixed it so they could get huge ratings."
When the "dream matchups" happen, no one ever mentions these times when the networks get the less desirable matchups.

I think if the Yanks win, the series will go over really big in the south Bronx and Little Havana and well I'm not exactly sure which advertisers could jump in there. Maybe somebody could offer some possibilities.

lander LOL.

BTW, some reports have begun to filter in that Miami native and Chicago Cub shortstop Mr. Alex S. Gonzalez and Mr. Chris Berman, an alledged sports reporter were seen together in a late model black sedan which was being pursued at high speeds out of Liberty City and onto I95 by an as yet unidentified group of youths in a late model lowrider of unknown make late last week.

It is not known at present why Mr. Gonzalez and Mr. Berman were in the vicinity. The only comment Mr. Berman made was that they "had a meeting with a man on the other side."

While Mr. Gonzalez only comment was "it ain't so, it ain't so. Don't even ask me that question kid".

It is believed Mr. Rodriguez was responding to a local youth after mistaking him for a youthful looking newspaper reporter as reported by the local youth. A full investigation would not be necessary according to Miami police investigator Bartman Simpleton.

That of course is a mistake in the last paragraph of the news alert. It should have read Mr. Gonzalez.

Mr. Rodriguez is said to have been lounging on his cigarette boat at the time. Sorry.

I hope they leave that Bartman alone. It's just a game. Even when you sabatage your city's only change in almost a century for a ring or when you beat up psychotic fat old men

Further reports are coming in on the recent developments in Miami.

It has now been reported by some local surfers, that this Mr. Rodriguez was seen tapping a chicken bone on a baseball bat while on the boat.

When one the surfers approached the boat to enquire about this strange behavior, this Mr. Rodriguez, reported to be a stocky pudgy man, simply reponded " its to keep de Goat sheet off the bat" and sped away before further questions could be asked. No goats were seen in the vicinity however.

We will keep you abreast on any further developments in these stories as they come in.

What about the conspiracy theory that Alex Gonzalez kidnapped Alex Gonzalez between innings and took his place ala Leslie Nielsen in "The Naked Gun".
I heard when he met Dusty Baker in the dugout he was muttering "I must kill de dream, I must kill de dream".
No truth to the rumor that Enrico Palazzo was supposed to sing in the 7th inning stretch of game seven, though.
