Wow. What a terribly misleading thread title. You should be ashamed.

While the creator of that specific YouTube clip used the same wording, yes - it is in fact an incredibly dishonest Topic line here because Sen Rockefeller says no such thing on that clip.

To the RR with this baloney

Jesus Christ, Loren. What the fuck is wrong with you? Are you so eaten up with the kook that you can't understand a rhetorical question? Especially one that he follows up with "and that's a stupid thing to say".

Holy fuck.

Mods, I respectfully request that the thread title be changed as well in order to contain the crazy.

Generally attempt to comprehend what this piece of crap is saying- rhetoric? I give you the reason why Loren brought this up. Besides doing his job as kook of the year. This question is -- why can't we get rid of the Internet? Answer -- Because so many people finding out the truth will keep you free that much longer, truth about the things that they are planning and doing to get rid of us. You see, the Internet, to them, is a command-and-control center of the citizenry. Too bad for the scumbag here, the information highway has allowed the average citizen to be 10 steps ahead of these monsters, and when the ship goes down, if we don't survive guess what maybe they won't either.
Ask what really bothers him. He's not worried about security here. He's worried about information, sometimes secret that we aren't supposed to know about, and because of the Internet we do. We do and informed people represent a threat to their plans. Dangerous to them. He was simply cracking out of turn. And yes it was a stupid thing to say, but he said what he meant first and took it back second. Geez, you guys think trying to take something back doesn't mean that you weren't trying to say it? What -- do you think he didn't mean it?
A whole country is imploding right before your eyes because of people like this, and you waste minutes of your life defending this man?
Why don't you just give him what he wants, total control over everyone and everything. That make you happy?@):)

Its not like somebody could hack in and steal or change your medical records to have you committed for life on the strike of a key or have a doctor give a political opponent the wrong medicince or remove the wrong organ............

I just think that is a domestic security problem and if you think this guy is worried about that you're as much of a kook as I am. First of all, he's talking about national security and the numbers when he talks 3 million are as stupid as he calls himself for what he says next. 3 million? Anytime anybody in the government brings up regulating the Internet know this much.. That means a veiled threat that they want to prevent the normal transfer of information from citizen to citizen -- or to want to regulate everything. That's their socialist/totalitarian agenda, all part of the big picture of the new America with no individual freedoms allowed like China, who was trying harder to ban the Internet than anyone. A master plan to be aware of if you hear someone bring up how badly the Internet needs regulation. The Internet is like a poker game, and they want to stop you from playing.
