Lol, she is literally the perfect person on the planet to say this to him: A congresswoman, a vet, and a vet who lost both her legs. " treasonous" if you don't clap for him, this Fat prick needs a nice, fat, impeachment to set his mind straight..."five-deferment draft dodger," :nohead:Slapping-silly90))

Sen. Tammy Duckworth: ‘Cadet Bone Spurs’ Won’t Tell Me When To Clap

The wounded veteran bristles at the suggestion that not applauding him is “treasonous.”

By Rebecca Shapiro

Iraq War veteran and U.S. Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) criticized President Donald Trump for calling Democrats who did not clap during his State of the Union address “treasonous” on Monday.

“We don’t live in a dictatorship or a monarchy,” Duckworth tweeted soon after he made the comment. “I swore an oath ― in the military and in the Senate ― to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, not to mindlessly cater to the whims of Cadet Bone Spurs and clap when he demands I clap.”

This is not the first time Duckworth, a Black Hawk helicopter pilot who received the Purple Heart after she lost both her legs in Iraq when her helicopter was struck by a rocket-propelled grenade, has referred to Trump as “Cadet Bone Spurs,” a reference to Trump’s stated reason for not being drafted during the Vietnam War.

During a floor speech last month, she also called Trump a “five-deferment draft dodger” as she slammed the president for criticizing Democrats’ support for the military.

“I spent my entire adult life looking out for the well-being, the training, the equipping of the troops for whom I was responsible,” she said. “I will not be lectured about what our military needs by a five-deferment draft dodger.”

I mean, why would anyone want to clap for a tax reform bill paying Americans millions? Why would anyone clap because the unemployment rates are at all time lows?

Who in their right mind would clap for that kind of stuff?

my understanding was that he criticized them not clapping at some "wins" like low black unemployment, stock market surge, and other specific policies not that he thought they should be clapping for him. I agree his narcissism probably equates a clap for a policy as a clap for him personally but don't think this woman is being accurate in her narrative.

you'd have to show me a Trump quote where he wanted them to clap for him personally and then I'll start factoring in her gender, title, and leg status

Sorry, that's NOT what he said(and the notion that, even if those "wins" were legit, that people who think he is a divisive, unfit, corrupt nitwit, would applaud for anything he hypes is laughable).

[h=1]Donald Trump Attacks Democrats Not Clapping At State Of The Union As ‘Treasonous’[/h] [h=3]At a jobs event in Ohio, Trump went full campaign mode, delivering a speech aimed directly at his base.[/h]

WASHINGTON ― President Donald Trump accused Democrats on Monday of being “un-American” and “treasonous” in a campaign-style speech in Cincinnati that was actually meant to tout the recent GOP tax bill and the economy.

“Can we call that treason?” Trump said, referring to Democrats who did not clap for him during his State of the Union address last week. “Why not? I mean, they certainly didn’t seem to love our country very much.”

At the State of the Union address, it is typical for politicians of the president’s party to enthusiastically applaud, while lawmakers in the opposite party usually have a muted response.

A handful of Democratic lawmakers did not attend last Tuesday’s address to protest Trump.

Trump suggested on Monday that Democrats were “very selfish” in not clapping for him. “They would rather see Trump do badly, OK, than our country do well,” he said.

Earlier in the speech, the president claimed that he was “non-braggadocious” after bragging about his first year in office.

Trump spoke at length about the midterm elections, even though White House spokesman Raj Shah told reporters before the speech, held at a factory, that “this isn’t a political event.”

Interspersed with remarks about jobs and the economy, Trump brought up popular issues for his base, including the “fake news media” in attendance and the lack of players kneeling during the national anthem at Sunday’s Super Bowl, which he appeared to take some credit for.

“We’re one team, one people and one family, and we’re saluting one great American flag. And everybody stood up yesterday,” he said. “There was nobody kneeling at the beginning of the Super Bowl. We’ve made a lot of improvement, haven’t we? That is a big improvement, and on top of that, it was a good game. So a lot of good things happened. There was no kneeling before that Super Bowl.”

You won't get an accurate narrative from this buffoon. It is what he does as he reads the Daily Kos for "facts"

again i don't see a specific quote where he was suggesting he wanted to be personally applauded.

of course him saying he's not a braggert is inaccurate but I know his post-SOTU was directed at libs not clapping for veterans, black unemployment, and the economic stability.

anyway, i guess if you only read these crazy sites you can get these quotes completely screwed up

You don't "know" any such thing, because if you listen to the tape within, you'll see he didn't specifically mention those those things, he said "positive news," and, again, people are entitled to feel it's NOT positive, and, he doesn't get the right to decide if it is, or their reaction, period.

But we do.
