I'm reading alot of garbage in the Blue Ribbon previews and other hoops sites about Northeastern returning all 5 starters and are expecting great things this year.

If their are any NCAA basketball handicapping novices here, let me tell you something... DO NOT buy into this "experience" line when betting college basketball! You are going to get absolutely buried. The same 5 guys returning from last year are the same 5 guys they were last year!

They do have marginal improvements in their game. Mostly in decision making, and they will do a little bit better than the previous season, but these improvements are not enough to overcome GAPS IN NATURAL TALENT.

Northeastern is returning a team that does have some size on IUPUI and should get the better end of the glass. But outside of Manny Adako, they can't shoot for a lick. NE's Matt Janning gets alot of preseason hype, but IMO he's more of a ball hog than anything. Blue Ribbon Preview is completely overhyping this team IMO. They play okay defense, but nothing outta this world.

IUPUI did lose two of their studs in the offseason, and are missing Gary Patterson in this one, but with Patterson I would of expected IUPUI to be a 6-8 point favorite here. He's a great baller but not worth 14 points!

IUPUI, top to bottom has the better shooters and scorers, and it sounds simple but you wouldn't believe how many hoops handicappers confuse themselves with so many other factors and forget the basic principle of the game is to get the ball in the hoop.

IUPUI Head Coach Ron Hunter: "It sounds crazy because we lost an NBA first-round draft pick, but I think we'll be better. From No. 1 through No. 12 this is by far the most talent we've had. I really like this basketball team."

Listen to Hunter, he is a man who knows how to build a basketball program. He goes after SHOOTERS! Guys who can put the ball into the f'cking basket and make that those numbers on the scoreboard change!

Hmm, I was expecting him to come out and say that his team sucked.

You must not have ever played basketball. Alot has to do with experience and returning players. They're obviously good enough to play D1 basketball, so they're talented. Being a year older does make a difference.

LOL. They were 14-17 last year.. How many wins do you think 1 yr experience is worth? Do you think they are a 20-win team ?!?!

Northeastern will have 3 guys on the court for 40:00 who cannot shoot a lick. Meanwhile, IUPUI has a roster filled with guys whose business is putting the ball in the basket.

Northeastern will have the best player on the court, the most experience returning, yada yada yada.

Hmm, how about my tar heels team who went 8-20 under Matt Daugherty?? They went 19-11 the next year, then won the national title the year after that.

STFU unless you know what you're talking about.

LOL.. Wow.. The ignorant A-holes are out and about tonight.

What year they go 8-20? Oh yea 2001-2002.

After bringing in one of the top 5 incoming classes for the 2002–2003 season, the Tar Heels started the season by knocking off a top 5 Kansas team and going on to win the Preseason NIT and returning to the AP top 25. Carolina went on to finish the season 17–15

That Class? Felton, May, McCants.

They went 19-10 the next year.

Wow, you don't even know the history of your own fucking team and you sit there pretending like you know what the hell you are talking about.

Ummm, are you kidding me? You are a fucking moron.

JR Smith? JR Smith never played for Carolina you dumbass, he went straight to the NBA.

Marvin Williams was the 6th man on that team.

Tyler Hansbrough wasn't on the title team.

JR Smith went directly to the NBA after committing to UNC only to put up a stellar peformance in the McDonalds all-american game.

Marvil Williams played the 6th man role on UNCs 2005 National Championship team.

Tyler Hansbrough was not on UNCs title team of May, McCants, Felton, Jawad Williams, Melvin Scott, Reyshawn Terry, Jackie Manuel, David Noel.

Returning your starting 5 is overrated...yeah ok, kinda like when that George Mason group stayed together all 4 years and we all know what that senior led group did in 2006.

I played IUPUI was leaning the other way but you swayed me. I got it at +7 so lets see what happens. Down by 9 now but I think the second half will be better.
