What about Ron Paul?

:puppy:

Gotta say, Mitt's lookin' very polished, poised and 'presidential.'

The wife accidently watched about five minutes of the debate and Mitt caught her eye.

Mitt does all the work and JP will reap all the benefits. Thanks Mitt!

JP, did you catch Thompson's 38 second bitch slappin' of Michael Moore? Pure political brilliance.

I think we'll start to see some Dems heads explode if he keeps this up. They're not used to it. Thompson seems to be the only guy left in Washington willing to hit back these weasels.

Expect the next president to jump in about June Julyish.

New field

Mitt - still don't think your talk back your walk but you got the three things women love: money, looks and money.

Tancredo: Need ya buddy, hang in there.

Hunter: This sumbitch should have his profile on the nickel

Fred and Newt: Like both your styles, wait as long as you want to.

yeah let's not include the guy who actually won the debate because his views are more in tune with the american people and won just about every poll there was.

Tancredo isn't polished and looks lost every time a non-immigration issue pops up. Mitt has a bit of a John Kerry odor to him, and Newt has more personal baggage than Rudy! (Newt should be the next Karl Rove.)

JP, if it came down to Hunter or Freddie, who would you choose?

I'd choose Hunter. But if Fred jumps in, he'll steamroll over everyone.

random, I will bet you every last dime you're worth that Ron Paul will NOT be the GOP nominee. Absolutely no snowball's chance in hell -- regardless of what all those skewed online polls indicate (leftist anti-war freaks voting on their cells and Blackberries).

Among registered Republicans, Ron Paul doesn't even show up on the radar.

Conservatives do not like Ron Paul, liberals do.

well if the republican party wanted a nominee to win the election in 08 itmight be a good idea to pick someone whose views mirror the american people's views. until then, the dems will have this election also.

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul (news, bio, voting record) is far and away the most popular on the Internet. Yet, despite his massive online lead, the mainstream media has barely managed to cover him at all.

On 5/14 and 5/15, Ron Paul was the #1 most-searched-for term on blog search engine Technorati. On post-debate polls on ABC.com and MSNBC.com, Ron Paul was voted the winner of the debate by a wide margin. In the past week, Ron Paul's website received more traffic than those of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama (news, bio, voting record), and John Edwards (Obama only recently took the lead by a hair). His videos are among the most-viewed on YouTube and popular social news site Digg.com is literally choked with Ron Paul-themed articles and comments.

So what's going on here? Why is there such a disconnect between the Internet and the mainstream media? Whether you are a fan of Mr. Paul or not, his apparent non-coverage is an extraordinary story just by itself.

Yes, yes, we know where Ron Paul's "popularity" is coming from...

Huffington Post, Democratic Underground, Moveon.org....yada yada yada yada...

I'm not surprised, since anything remotely "anti-war" creates a huge spike in the lefty virtual world.

Bush. Not Ideal because he spends way too much, but he's closer than any of these guys.

Freedom of speech has just registered a crushing victory after it was announced that the Michigan GOP have dropped their move to have Congressman Ron Paul kicked out of the Republican debates.

Though we still have to be wary that other factions within the GOP could seek to bar Ron Paul, we have shot down this trial balloon for now.

The RNC and the Michigan GOP received thousands of calls after we quickly organized a campaign and a petition in opposition to Michigan head Saul Anuzis' action to circulate a petition calling for Ron Paul to be removed from all future debates. Others also circulated online petitions to counter the move, totaling over 20,000 signatures between all the petitions.

Anuzis was angry that the Texas Congressman had dared to suggest that bombing Middle Eastern countries causes anger and blowback at the Republican candidate debate on Tuesday evening.

"After consulting with my fellow RNC members, I believe there isn’t anything to be gained by advancing a petition aimed solely at removing Congressman Paul from the debates. The primary is and will continue to work itself out," writes Anuzis on his blog.

Anuzis also protests that his intention was never to censure free speech but in moving to kick Ron Paul out for something he said that offended the Neo-Con leadership of the Michigan GOP, this was clearly an attempt to stifle a candidate who has made himself a frontrunner and won all the debate polls by simply telling the truth.

Don't read any of those sites but heard of Ron Paul long before now. That conspiracy talk show host Alex Jones has had him on several times I believe and read about him on libertarian boards. He won't get elected. He will appeal to those who supported Pat Buchanon and some liberals but that is it at best.
