grady pulled a dusty. neither one of these guys knows what the hell they are doing. huge mistakes managing the pitching changes (or lack thereof). they both got what they deserved.
But EVERY manager in MLB does the same with starters, letting them pitch till long after they've demonstrated that they're fatigued...waiting to pull them until they relinquish the lead.
Pedro pitched a fine game - it was obvious he was tired - 7 hits from last 9 batters and the coach should have pulled him off. the bull-pen for the sox have started to fire recently so its not pedro's fault. Down to the coach I'm afraid should have had the balls to take his star off.
I agree. I know the Red Sox pen has had troubles but if you can't rely on them to get 6 outs with a 3 run lead in Game #7 you don't deserve to win. I suppose this is a little Monday morning quarterbacking, if he'd closed them down we'd never say a word but it still looks bad when you guess wrong. Plus like Value says he did look tired. When these professional hitters go through the order 4 times it's not unusual for them to get a beat on you no matter who you are. Not a bad idea to give them a new look on the hill.
