With national signing day tomorrow, February 5th, the Southeastern Conference is reigning supreme on the recruiting trail. According to Rivals Recruiting Service, seven SEC teams have built top 10 classes. Based on the rankings, the SEC is cleaning up. ESPN has four SEC classes ranked in the top 5: No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Texas A&M, No. 4 LSU and No. 5 Tennessee. Six of ESPN.com's eight highest rated prospects, and 25 of the top 50, have signed or committed to SEC teams.

ESPN national recruiting director Tom Luginbill thinks the Pac-12 stands the best chance of closing the gap on the SEC on Wednesday.

Rivals Top 10 Classes:
1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Texas A&M
4. Tennessee
5. Florida State
6. LSU
7. Florida
8. Georgia
9. Notre Dame
10. Auburn

Add in No. 13 Kentucky and No. 15 Ole Miss and 9 of the 14 SEC teams are in the top 20.

in other news, water is wet.

this should hardly be surprising to anyone. best conference gets the best recruits...

and as it should be shown, getting high rated recruits doesnt lead to riches. the ratings are imperfect and you need good coaches to improve their abilities

Oklahoma got Steven Parker and now four-star OT Kenyon Frison and Five-star RB Mixon signing on at OU.

Very nice job by Stoops.

Great Bama pickup RT getting Evans. Man I thought the kid was going to Auburn. Auburn coaches were at his grandmother's birthday party on Saturday at a hotel and were out on the dance floor dancing. The kid has so much potential both schools wanted him badly. (rated No. 1 linebacker prospect in the country)

Here's Rivals final top 10

1. Alabama
2. LSU
3. Ohio State
4. Florida State
5. Tennessee
6. Texas A&M
7. Florida
8. Auburn
9. Georgia
10. Notre Dame

Rivals had 28 players rated 5star prospects....Saban got 6 of them....damn strong!

Haven't double checked this but heard on the radio that every 5star player Saban has recruited to Alabama has been drafted by the NFL.

Water may be wet, but Bama signing 6 five star players is insane and just about unheard of. Great job by Saban. And the point that Clover made about every 5 star that Saban has signed has gone on to be drafted in the 1st round is a helluva selling point to recruits.

It's definitely been a great day for OU. Stoops said this has been one of his best recruiting classes based on getting the players he needs the most at certain positions. Frison was a great get. This kid is nasty. He blocks every play like he's in a street fight. Maybe the most important recruit for us this year.

espnu have 15 five-stars and 5 of them signed to Ttown. They had CNS on this afternoon and asked him how the hell could he have signed 1/3 of the nation's blue chip prospects and he just sort of smiled and shook his head....almost like he's as surprised as the rest of us.

I'm in awe at the position ranks personally. 14 recruits are top 5 in the nation at their positions (i'm a rivals guy) with 4 #1's

didn't know that stat on saban 5 stars all being first rounders....guess it depends which site you choose as I know Tyler Love was a 5-star out of my old Mountain Brook stomping grounds and I believe Nico Johnson was a 5-star but a 2nd round choice. certainly Trent, JJ, Dre, Fluker, Milliner fit the bill with Ha Ha and CyKo 2 months away from first round status. Depends who is listing the "stars" but has only been a few total flops in the CNS era. Dee Hart will never live up to his billing and neither BJ Scott nor Tyler Love did much...Love because of injuries, Scott just not good enough.

From a #'s perspective this 2014 class is one of the greatest hauls since 85-schollies came into effect but we'll see in a few years how it matches up to the 2008 group the produced Barron, Mount Cody, Dareus, Robby Green, J Harris, Hightower, Ingram, Barrett Jones, Julio, Lester, Smelley, Square, and Upshaw.

the 2009 group could have some bragging rights as well with guys like AJ, Carpenter, Bell, Dial, Fluker, Nico, TR3, Norwood, Patrick , Warmack, Steen, and Stinson but still need to use the 2008 class as the bar to reach.

the 2010 class will be the black sheep although it will have produced two 1st rounders in Milliner and CJ moseley ... still when you rate them right now that was a really poor year

will be interesting to see Hansen vs Cornwell. I know OU love Hansen but in this day and age you need 3-4 big time QB's on campus at the same time, every single year. Still don't understand how they could let a kid leave Norman without a fight.

The only thing I was disappointed in this year was no drama from a recruits mom. A few years ago Floyd ravens mom sent his LOI to a school he didnt want to go to. Last year Alex collins mother took off with his because she didn't want him going to Arkansas.

Hey Bets.....moms are the key in most cases. LSU just stole a big lineman away from Miami because his mother liked Les Miles better than any of the other coaches. The kid lives in Miami and she met a ton of the heavy hitters.

RT, after spring practice, look for one or more of Alabama's quarterbacks to transfer. I'll lay 5/2 one will leave and maybe 3/2 a second follows. A couple of these guys will realize (one way or the other) that they are no longer in the future of the Tide. A lot will depend on how the FSU transfer showcases.

Yes sir, clover. I 100% agree with it, it just seemed like a pretty "uneventful" day with regards to drama. Other than Evans, and Auburn posting his profile on their site, it didnt seem like there was much drama.

And while we are talking SEC recruiting, I wanted to point out Missouri and (even bigger)A&M since joining the SEC. I remember reading where recruiting wasn't going to help for A&M nor Missouri for joining the SEC. Sumlin probably helped a lot with the uptick for A&M, but it is significant. This was posted on ESPN a couple days ago.

Years back Bobby Bowden (FSU) was a master when it came to "recruiting the Mommas" when he came to Tallahassee....After the Kid signed on the dotted-line, the first thing that came out of the mother's mouth was a lecture to her son, "you behave when you get to school and listen to coach Bowden".....that was enough said.
