They might not be as dominant as they were last year, but the defending champions from Colorado are an easy value pick at –182 this Wednesday when they host the expansion Seattle Kraken in Game 5 of their first-round series. FiveThirtyEight estimates the Avalanche’s chances of victory at 73%, which translates to a fair moneyline of –270.

That estimate is probably skewed by Seattle’s inaugural season, where they finished last in the Pacific Division; the Kraken did well to take Games 2 and 3 of this series, but their goaltending is suspect with Phillipp Grubauer (.895 save percentage during the regular season) between the pipes.
