Do I really need to turn on espn news and see the headlline brett farve mothers house destroyed in hurricane... what the hell is up with that? must be a real hardship for her? now she gets to move into farves mansion in La.. this guy has been washed up for at least 2 years and still continues to get the pass from the media...... and like we should really care his mothers house was destroyed.... then they have his mother on national tv telling him the news..... what about all the other poor bastards who didnt have hurricane insurance and most likely will be left homeless forever...... tired of all this brett farve sympathy bandwagon..

The reason they do that is to "personalize" the story for people like you, but with a bit more compassion. You're right that they are tens of thousands of other people caught up in this that will lose everything they have ever had and will be much worse off than Favre and his family. But no one knows Joe Schmoe there in Biloxi but everyone knows Favre and it makes the story somewhat more personal.

Your one of those guys that looks at the worst in everything. By the way Favre had a great year last year 4000+ yards 30+ tds Division champ. Still better then most QB's in league

Yeah fuck him, sillly sympathy whore!!! Guy's dad dies of a heart attack on the way to one of his games , brother inlaw and nephew die in a car wreck, his wife gets diagnosed with cancer, and then his mothers house is desroyed and her life put in jeopardy all within a couple of years and were suppose to feel sorry for him.
