Owens had more time to get better before his performance. Schill's injury was right in the middle of things so he didn't really have a lot of time to mend.
I love them both...Schilling does a ton of community work in Philly to this day and his family is a integral part of our town. I don't think you can take away anything from TO's performance as he was our best player by far in the Super Bowl.
I love how people think Schillings peformance was beter cause they won. In reality it shouldn't matter because THIS ISN"T TENNIS PEOPLE!!!. It is not an individual game. I don't remember every playoff game in detail, but if my recollection is correct Schilling did not throw a shutout every game, or did he? I don't even think he complete every game which means he needed lots of bullpen help. If not then he needed help from his team to win, correct?
Now if I had a vote I would give it to Schilling as well, but certainly not simply because his team happened to win in a team sport.
Both were gutsy efforts, both gave all they got. Neither player was perfect by any means.
Don't know whos injury was tougher to play with, the time argument isn't as simple as made to be as Owens already had the surgery. I ad ACL tears and can tell you it would be much easier to play my sport a few weeks after the tear before surgery then it would be to play two weeks after the actual surgery to fix it.
