Been waiting on this week for the games I have outlined below. Will be adding additional info as it comes in.

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

COLORADO @ MISSOURI -7 (playing Mizzou)

Big, big revenge game for Tigers in this one. LY game was on the road in Boulder early November that Tigers completely dominated but let go early and were not able to rally. Tigers led in Time of possession 33 min to 27, led in rushing 170 to 80, led in passing 278 to 187 but lost the game 21 – 16. Mizzou held a 447 to 250 yardage advantage but lost 4 turnovers, all TO’s were from Brad Smith. The game ended when Smith was picked off inside at the 10yd line with less than 2 minutes to go. This is the first of 3 circled games on the Mizzou schedule. This will be first big test for Colorado as they have not faced a team that could move the ball yet gave up over 500 yards to UNT team 2 weeks back that played without top RB. I know B Smith had this one circled as this loss cost them chance at B12 north title. Met him during the summer through a kid who played high school locally here in Dallas suburb and they both wished they had that one to do over again. I expect CU will get Tigers best effort so far this year.

WAKE @ NCST –9 (playing Pack)

NCST had Nat’l Title aspirations LY with what they thought was easy game @ Wake before going to Ohio St for date with Natl Champs. NCST came out flat, getting down by as many as 25 points early. NCST admittedly in the paper prior to the game that they were overlooking Wake and news got back to Wake HC Grobe and his players who came out inspired. HC Amato admitted after that his team had looked ahead. NCST clearly outplayed Wake in the second half but kept several Wake drives alive with personal foul penalties late. It might be noted that NCST played without McLendon and Sterling Hicks at wideout. NCST loaded on defense and they are especially tough against the run. Wake was unable to move the ball against BC other than trickeration to create big plays and BC also blew 2 fairly short FG. I expect more talented Wolfpack team to be better prepared this week.

RUTGERS @ SYRACUSE –6’

Orange needing win at Rutgers and following week against Notre Dame got completely ambushed by Scarlet Knight in a win that complete the best Rutgers season since ’98. Knights completely dominated the Orange winning possession battle 39 minutes to 21 minutes. Rutgers outrushed the Orange and Walter Reyes 167 yds to 37yds and did not commit a turnover in the upset victory. The loss to Rutgers knocked the Orange out of bowl consideration and also cost the Big East to not be able to fulfill it Bowl tie-in. Big East opener for both but expect big effort from the Orange.

ASU @ OREGON-3 (playing Ducks)

LY's game saw reeling Duck squad in the midst of a 3 game losing streak. This after knocking off Michigan. ASU who was also struggling jumped on Ducks early in the first but after Ducks pulled to within 21-14 early in the 3rd, they allowed ASU to run off 35 straight points. ASU won the game 59-14. It was the most lopsided road loss in the Mike Belotti era as coach of the Ducks. Oregon was dominated on the clock 36 min to 24, on the ground and in the air 336 to 125. Ducks also threw in 3 turnovers and 9 penalties in what Belotti called the worst game he’s ever been involved in. Why Oregon in this game…other than revenge for the Ducks they are catching ASU off 2 consecutive home revenge wins over Iowa and Oregon St. ASU still shaky at best on defense as OSU moved the ball up and down the field with turnovers (5) costing them a chance at the win. In the OSU/ASU game on Saturday, OSU TE was running into the endzone for an apparent TD only the have the ball knocked out of his hands and recovered for a touchback. QB Anderson was sacked and fumbled on the OSU 12. ASU recovered and then scored on a WR 12 yd TD pass (trickeration). ASU totaled less that 250 total yards compared to 400 for Oregon St. Previous road game saw ASU struggle versus N’western and they really don’t play very good defense despite 4-0 record. They have also lost a couple RB’s due to suspensions and injuries. I expect this line to come down as many play SunDevils due to recent showing and Oregon play versus Oklahoma on Nat'l TV.

Any additional input is appreciated.

I like the Ducks also. Home team favored over a ranked team.

What about Arkansas @Florida. Florida was blowing Arkansas out at their place last year. Florida' s cornerback who's currently in the NFL (name?) intercepted a pass late in the 3rd quarter and run it back for a touchdown. He threw the ball up into the stands and posed. After that, Arkansas made a furious comeback. Florida was leading 33-18 when Leak threw an interception that was called off because of a late hit call on Tony Bua. Arkansas will want revenge, but I'm not sure they can pull it off.
thoughts?

BC blew 3 FG's and had a 2-yard and a 5-yard punt. But things always seem to break Wake's way.

Nice writeups. Haven't pulled the trigger on State or Mizzou yet.

Good luck.

This is ARK first road game of the year and they are really young (other than QB Jones) on both sides of the ball. They will be catching Gators with LSU on deck but I don't believe that Hogs have the horses to play Gators close. Hog defense just not ready for prime time. Don't read too much into victory over Bama, Tide not very good team.

MWS - really like Mizzou, CU Defense is a SIV, and Mizzou different team at home than on the road. CU was life and death to beat CSU, allowed UNT to get more than 500 total yds, and I believe CSU will finish near bottom in MWC just above UNLV. Love the NCST defense. Not excited about the rotating QB situation but I guess with the defense being as good as it is you are afforded that luxury. They should have beaten OSU, too many penalties and TO's on offense.

Best of luck to you though.

Thanks for the response - you make a strong case for Mizzou. Maybe an all-Tigers parlay -- Mizzou, LSU, and AU. Back in the early '50's Maryland once beat those three plus Clemson in consecutive games.

Where are you in Dallas? I'm about to head to Primo's for a couple meltdowns.

Good luck this weekend.

Any thoughts on Boise and UT? I like SMU and Baylor to get a dose of harsh reality.

It's funny you mention those two games.

I agree with you on Boise/SMU. BSU came to Dallas and beat Stangs by 42 LY. See pretty much the same. SMU has gotten their 1 win for the year, plus they are so banged up on both sides of the ball that I just cannot see them competing in this game. Gotta believe that BSU gives max effort after last Friday less than stellar performance vs BYU plus they have off week to prepare for Tulsa then Fresno.

I hate playing UT before OU but Baylor is really, really bad, especially on the road. But UT has owned this team of late. My thoughts in this one is that Baylor will not score more than 7, which means that Horns must get 48 to be safe. I can see it, especially the way they've moved the ball. I had planned on parlaying BSU/Texas and another large line.

I'm in Frisco which is just NW of Dallas

This will be a nice addition for the Ducks next year:

Suspended Nebraska Center Richie Incognito, who was suspended indefinitely by Nebraska after repeated discipline problems, has enrolled at the University of Oregon and could join Oregon practices in the next week pending physical exams. Incognito, a first-team All-Big 12 selection last year, will not be eligible to play until next season under NCAA rules.

That will help the run game next year. I wonder what Nike had to pay to get him to Eugene. I'm sure he can draw a salary from Nike since he's not officially on the Ducks squad this year.

Syracuse:
Syracuse starting cornerback Tanard Jackson was stabbed in the chest during a fight outside the campus student center. Jackson, a sophomore from Germantown, Md., was in good condition Monday at Crouse Hospital after the incident about 2 a.m. Sunday. His status for Saturday's game against Rutgers is unknown.

4* Marshall -6'
No more Ben Roethlisberger means Marshall returns to dominance in this series. Marshall looking for revenge at home (where best served) in this one not only for trouncing LY but for Miami, Oh coach who after the game assaulted a Marshall fan on the field. Marshall was completely dominated in the game which was Miami first win over the Herd. Before last year's loss Herd had won 5 of last 6 versus MiamiO with most being by 7 or more points. Marshall has played the far tougher competition this year with games @ Ohio State and @ Georgia as well as Troy. Marshall was able to stay in each game and they outgained OSU on the ground and won the clock battle by 10 minutes. But were unable to take advantage of Buckeye mistakes. Competitive Herd showing should be no surprise as they returned almost everyone from the defensive 2-deep roster. Also note that QB Stan Hill was injured and did not play in last years game which would have made a difference.

MiamiO has not been competitive in game versus BCS conference teams but they have dominated the lesser talented teams they've played winning at home against Indiana St and Ohio U. They were beaten by both Michigan and Cincinnati. While they have moved the ball via the air, until the Ohio game they had not rushed for more than 75 yds.
The crowd will definately be hyped for this return engagement and I believe Marshall breaks out, gets their first win and cover in this game.

Easy? It was far from easy. Did you see the Miami RB fumble it out of the endzone? I had Marshall too so I was happy. Any thoughts on tonights games?

Easy in that had Marshall capitalized on he TO's this game would/should not have been as close. When you are +4 in TO you should win by atleast DD's when at home. Had they capitalized, this game it a no doubter.

I had planned on parlaying BSU/Texas and another large line.
Rice seems like the perfect third team because it ties in with the first two - playing the team that made Boise's opponent look so good last week, and off a respectable performance against Texas itself.

Good luck, and congrats on the Marshall winner.

MWS,

Rice not bad choice, also looking at either Louisville or Minny. Awaiting info on health of Mills and Robinson for PSU. If Mills cant go then I'll probably load up on Minny to complete the parlay. If Wisky had a RB with speed, they may have scored 80. If Minny gets the same holes to run through both Barber and Maroney will rush for 200 each. ECU just bad and Louisville has 2 weeks to get ready for Miami so I expect HC to work them hard.

I will let you know.

...And the rest of the card as I am on the road in Portland and will be heading over to the ASU/ORE game tomorrow. It'll be easier to post these now and sleep in.

From Revengers from above. I expect them all to cover easily
6* Oregon -2'
6* Mizzou -7
6* NCST -9'
5* 'Cuse -6'

5* Minny -14'
PSU to be without both Mills and Robinson this week and they are also horrible against the run. Expect both Minny backs to have atleast 150 on the ground in this one as PSU secondary speed below average.

4* Texas -37
Baylor is just horrible and I doubt they score more than 7 pts which means T-sips have to score 48 to be safe. I think they have 42 by half so my cousin's gonna get some time at backup as he's been getting lots of snaps this week. UT 12-4 ATS before OU game which is on deck.

4* L'Ville -30
Same theory here as ECU is young and bad. Card with down time before 'Canes game so expect both QB to get lots of game time and their D holds Pirates O to 10 or less

4* Ok ST -17
Not sold on Pokes offense completely but think that since ISU has proven that they cannot stop the run and that is the one thing that OSU does well, at home this should be grinding game for Pokes. Also Pokes have had their way in this series at home. Look UNDER in this one as well if you are playing a total.

4* Boise St -37
SMU is decimated by injuries on both lines and in both backfields. Expect BSU to come out firing in hopes of impressing votes with high pt total (per HC Hawkins - the only way we can garner attention when we are not facing top caliber competition is to put up outrageous scoring totals)> He was on local ESPN in Dallas Thursday night and made those comments during the interview.

3* Washington +13'
This more sentimental than stats. In the 2000 season during UW last visit to Farm Huskies rallied for thrilling last minute victory over Card. Also in the game one of their players Curtis Williams made a vicious tackle and snapped his cervical cord in the process. He was paralyzed after the tackles and later died in May of 2003. This year UW dedicated the season to him, wearing patches and putting his number on the huskied stadium turf. No doubt Card have better coaching staff and players but expect EMOTIONAL and INSPIRED effort (this from a very good friend of mine who recruits for UW in NTex). Also catching Card off SCal and they may be a bit flat after their second half performance. This play more of a hunch so tread lightly. I say this because there are a lot of cappers here that are better than I that are on the Cardinal this week..but no one has mention the Curtis Williams and SC angle on this game. Be Careful

5* Oregon St +7
No doubt DA has cost me plenty in the past but he and Beavs have been golden to me at home in Reiser. Beavs OWN Cal and I think in this position many are drinking the Golden Bear Kool-aid.

No one walks into Reiser and lays a TD and expects to win as Beavs 11-5 as home dog since '96. Also add to that Cal major RUST as they've been off for 3 weeks. Expect fast starting Beavs to get up early and hang on for outright win v Cal as Bears fight RUST and Look ahead to SC next week.

I think you are way off on Huskies as if anyone has motivation its Cards who have lost 10 straight to Washington. This Washington team is poorly coached and are the worst team in the league. This team will hit rock bottom and will probably go after Pinkel at Missouri after the season. This gets real ugly!

In regards to Texas, yes they should cover here but the question is will they. This is the typical look ahead game with Oklahoma next week. I think the back door is all the way open on this one.

Otherwise, very strong card and wish you the best. Would strongly urge you to get off of Washington as your reasoning is not solid as you are trying to fit a square peg into a round hole on this one.
