Nikolay Valuev vs Evander Holyfield

My pick is Nikolay Valuev to win

Odds : 1.22

Where : betfair

10 units to win 2.2 units

No write up for this freakshow , Holyfield is 46 and already over a year ago showed nothing at all against a twice as much smaller fighter as the Beast from the East . I would have taken over 9.5 rounds prop but there are too many questions for me here . A 46 years old fighter against a giant like Valuev can end bad and either ref or his corner will stop the fight so I am just taking this baby odds as I have no way for Holyfield to win this at all .

We all love Rocky Balboa but come on. this seem like a joke. I admit i have no idea who the other guy is but i dont see this ending up good. I'd take under 9 1/2. Ref will probably stop it at some point.

I saw valuev once ( i think it was his fight in feb) and i was suprised how fluid he seemed being such a large man.

i try to avoid laying over -400 in a fight, but i cant see holyfield having any chance. i think tis is actually dangerous, and someone needs to stop him.

i wouldnt touch holyfield with free money.

I'm looking to parlay Valuev with a couple other big faves, either in boxing or MMA. Any suggestions?

Valuev has amazing gas tank , I've never seen him gas and I watched every of his fights since he started boxing in Germany , actually I've met him once here and he is a very nice guy .
Holyfield against Sultan did NOTHING at all and it seemed to me that Sultan just didn't want to KO the old man .

How can Holyfield win this ?

He cant KO Valuev thats for sure , 0.00 % chance for Holyfield to KO him unless he brings in some heavy weapon ... sure his hands aren't one .

Decision ? How can he win a decision if he wont fight for more than 1-2 rounds and that do nothing .

Valuev all the way here and they set up a fight with one of the Klitschkos later on .

I cant touch rounds prop here because Valuev doesn't go for the KO really but he will easily win a decision over a man like Holyfield at 46 . Like I've said somebody can easily stop this for Holyfield even if he isn't KOed by a punch but just for saving from the punishment he might have to deal with .

agree with machida, barnett, and fedor all be realitively safe plays. best value with machida imo as he is under -300 and i have already express my feeling on that one, although there is a possibility i am underestimating thaigo.

anyway, if you watched arlovski on the ground with nelson, it is hard to believe that his fight with fedor will not end in a submission win. but arlvoski's hands have looked great of late. fedor has never been finished, never really lost, but if someone is going to catch him standing i think AA has a good a chance as any, which is still small though.

i think yvel is just there to give Barnett an experience opponet who long time fans of mma will recognize. Barnett will win this fight and set up match with winner of AA/Fedor. But the odds are so high here, it may not be worth it to risk injury or freak stoppage by cut or something in two seperate fights.

imo best bet would be to use valuev to get slightly better odds on machida, or to just play valuev stright for some small profit.

my problem is that i base my plays on % of bankroll and i will never really risk more than 5% or 5u (the one time I have since posting here did not end too well, see the first play in my mma wagers thread) so the return is not going to be very high in my case and that just may have me lay off all together.

but you need to remember value is value, so if there is actually a 99% chance valuev wins this fight and the odds are giving him an 87% chance, then maybe a play straight play is a proper call.

Brain, I looked at this matchup, and agree what everything you're stating. The age of Holyfield, the size and strenght of Valuev (2.13m and 145kg, this guy is a fucking giant) I mean come on, what does Evander expect from this fight?

First of all, this guy didnt have a fight in a year, and the last fight in 2007 he lost against Sultan. It was clearly, Evander is too old to continue boxing, he isnt the Holyfield of the 1990's anymore. The reflexes, the punches etc. Another small detail is that Holyfield never did well against taller opponents, what is he doing to do against the Russian giant. What Valuev is going to do, is keep his opponent on a distance, like he always does. Staying at the end of the jab, and Evander is going to feel a couple of those KingKong-punches.

I think it'll be a boring fight to watch, these 2 dont match at all, and this fight will end by by the refs, or 'the towel'. I hate laying so much wood, but this is one of the times you could throw a chunk on it.

GL everybody betting this fight.

Switching my 1.22 odds bet at betfair to 1.28 at betandwin . Got my stake back at betfair at 1.25 with 30 $ loss so I have now 1.25 odds on Valuev with original 10 units but also 10 units win on draw at betfair with that 1.25 lay Valuev .

So Valuev wins = 2.5 units

Draw = my stake back

Money coming in on Holyfield but mostly from hardcore boxing fans and people who have seen those pics and think this 6pac will help him in the ring against Valuev who from what I hear here in Germany is in amazing shape himself , he lost weight but I think it will only be in his favour . You watch out how 46 years old Holyfield has problems breathing after 2 rounds being so ripped .
