Some thoughts on Oaklawn:
R1 - 2 Julies First 5-1 - Like that work two back at 5 panels and that the trainer is 3/5 with firsters.
R2 - 1 Tizzy Girl 2-1 - Strong maiden effort as a firster and is tops in all my figures (raw speed, speed, pace, and power).
R3 - 1 Nova Scotia Norma 4-1 - was hurt by the post last out and should prevail after drawing the inside here.
R4 - 11 Bocelli 9-2 - drops after showing some early foot to the half last out, questionable chalk here in #10 who is quite beatable. This one is bred for the distance and can handle an off track if the weather turns sour early on.
R5 - 1 Frogman Henry 2-1 - drops second off the shelf for a solid barn, expect an improved effort over the previous speed and fade last out.
R6 - 5 Louis Choice 3-1 - solid debut at 5-1 and is likely to improve as the only other strong contender in this race has tried to win 9 times without any success (#3)
R7 - 10 Callum 7-2 - finds a lackluster field here and likely will float in odds up to 9-2 or 5-1 before this one runs.
R8 - 3 Testy Guy 3-1 - has never lost over this course and has won 8 of 23 efforts at this distance, solid connections make up for lack of class here... watch the tote as this one may get bet down fairly heavy.
R9 - 1 Touch Of Victory 5-2 - hard to go against this weak favorite here, field is not that tough and this one should improve off of last here second off of the layoff.
R10 - 2 Rockport Harbor 8-5 - Elliott & Servis are trying for another Smarty Jones story here, horse should be much better now at 3 and can likely spring board off of that 102 Beyer in the Remsen in November, pedigree suggests the distance is not going to be an issue and neither is the rainy weather that is anticipated here.
R11 - 7 Flashy Falsehood 6-1 - steps up off of a solid effort at 7.5k and likely will find himself out on the lead early at some point, willing to take shot here at these oddes since nothing really jumps out at me with the rest of this field.
Good Luck!
