sanders was woefully out of shape...he looked every bit of 38...

and the guy`s plan was..."i`ll try and get lucky like i did with his brother.....no jabs...no body work....i`ll just keep throwing the left hand"....

in poor shape.....no plan "b"....????...he takes a good beating...i`ll give him that...

i`ve seen toughman fighters with better skills..

time to retire,corrie....

the scary part is,he almost got lucky....

part of the heavyweight problem is a huge void of decent american heavyweights...it`s european dominated now...everybody fights with a style reminiscent of the amateurs.......stiff... robotic...

or you get a ruiz/oquendo snorefest....i heard that instead of "punchstat",they used "clinchstat".....lol

to be fair,golota/byrd was entertaining.....golota was in fantastic shape and fought damned well for being out of the game for a good while....

in this current heavyweight mess,he`s a legit threat...

if i don`t see another heavyweight fight without james toney or roy jones in it,it`ll be fine by me...

what a horrible division...can`t honestly remember a much worse time for heavyweights...

I agree on the 38 years and his body not looking spectecular even a bit worse than against Wlad.
You are probably right about plan b there was no plan b. but what do you want Sanders outjabbing Klitschko to win a dec ?
maybe thats a plan but not one that could have worked.
Sanders fought his kind of fight, provoke Vitali let him fire his right hand first even going in the ropes to aceive that and than counter with his left and follow up.
Seems like a good plan to me and he wobbeled Vitali a few times but he managed to recuporate pretty fast.
Vitali said in the interview it was a mistake to mix it up in the second because Sanders has much faster hands.
I totally disagree on the skill level of sanders, he has a very fast and hard left which he can throw as hook or straight and he can also punch precisley in combination and is a very dangerous counterpuncher... i dont even bother to eleborate.

But hey its good to see that i can disagree with something that you said, because most of the time i have the same bets and opinions like you.

Good luck for your next bet

THAT WAS A GREAT BOUT!

Sanders takes some shot. Vitali handles pressure better than his brother. He also changes on the fly better . Great lead right hand as the fight went on.

i`d just rather watch guys with skills..and to display your skill level, you have to be in half-way decent shape......that`s why i`m not to big on the heavyweight division....i felt like sanders thought he was gonna either land the big left or lose.......of course, vitali knew the plan ,also.........that`s probably why it wasn`t all that effective....that`s what i meant about a game plan....

for sanders, plan a should have been to get into shape to give himself the best opportunity to win....i think the easy win over wlad and the fact that he wasn`t in shape probably contributed the amateur-like lunging and lack of balance...

i admit i`ve seen sanders look much "tighter",boxing wise....

but,in all fairness, fighting guys 6`7" isn`t easy....and,imo,if vitali is 6`3",we wouldn`t be discussing him because he`d be just another fringe european fighter...

in the heavyweight division, the lack of a "weight restriction" makes for way to many fights involving guys that are out of shape....and old men hanging around way to long...

but,that`s just me....we can disagree,tony.....we`re boxing homey`s,bud(lol)....

i`d expect nothing less than your honest opinion...that`s why i come here...to listen to guys that know what they`re talking about...

mr nj,if you think that was a great fight, try and get your hands on the george foreman/ron lyle bout years ago.....

two monsters in good shape just pounding the piss outta one another......you`ll love it....it was a war....well worth watching...

or practically any matthew franklin(aka matthew saad muhammad) fight....particularly the marvin johnson bouts....great stuff...

g.l.,guys...some good stuff coming up in the next few weeks...

On the other thread for this fight I just made some similar comments about Sanders. But I disagree with you on a few things. Sanders would kill the tough man guys. He is a far more talented fighter than those clowns. And it has nothing to do with luck that he almost knocked Vitali down a couple of times. He has arguably the best punch in boxing. But I get into that more on the other thread.

Youre right though, this division is absolutely horrendous. It is there for the taking for any good big guy who comes along. And I agree with you about Jones and Toney, they are the most skilled guys in the division. Toney can probably shine in this division. The only thing is that I dont know how much trouble he'd have against a 6"6 or taller guy. But Toney can fight with anyone as long as they dont have blazing speed. Thats not a problem in this division. But god Toney is an idiot.

I agree about the "rather watch guys with more skill" especially the underrated lower weight classes, but that fight was still a fun one.
