gayshoes, I went there surfing for a week, about 6 or 7 years ago. Awesome place, very cheap, I felt pretty safe there since I'm sure your gringo pussy ass is afraid of being kidnapped. Very good waves, looks a lot like northern Guanacaste, water a little cold kinda like Roca Bruja. Best part of all is that basically no one surfs so the breaks are pretty much empty. I went there with like 10 friends and we were the crowd, just 2 or 3 locals surfing. Once you go into the town you'll notice that to the left of the main road is where all the poor people live and to the right you have all these huge mansions, 3 stories high with . You might not know this but middle class is almost non existent in Nicaragua, everyone is filthy rich or dirt poor. There are a few gringos living there (just like anywhere else in the world). Food is ok and very very cheap. Popoyo is a little far north but worth looking into, I didn't go but I've heard great things about it. Let me know when you're going, I might tag along. Oh they hate ticos.

been there before cool place....going 2 weeks from today....lots of bar restaurants on beach...and cheap...fishing good as well

I was there in Dec, Border Jump, Stayed right on the beach. THere is a bar called Iguans go look for a Guy called Carlos hes a surfer and knows all the spots there. Tell the fucker ya are friends with the Danish guy that knows Shara. Friendly spot and like they say booze is cheap and the food is great and yes the place is safe they have the big cruise ships make port there so they treat outsiders like kings:toast:
