San Diego vs Colorado on 09/23 by Craig_Brown

The Padres are another team battling for a wild card berth down the stretch and although they are in a solid position to cop one of the three spots, a playoff appearance is by no means guaranteed. San Diego will send Sean Manaea (7-9, 5.18 ERA, 1.33 WHIP) to the bump who pitched well in a losing cause last week, allowing just two runs, on three hits, over five full innings of work in a 4-0 loss to Arizona.

Ryan Feltner (3-8, 6.05 ERA, 1.44 WHIP) will twirl for the Rockies and he will try to redeem himself from the last time he saw this Padres lineup when he worked 3.2 innings, surrendering three runs on eight hits in a 13-5 loss.

We are going to back the Padres in this one in what should be a high-scoring affair. I don’t believe Feltner will be long for this game and the Padres should get at least five solid innings out of Manaea. Back San Diego here.
