Kansas City +10

The 10 is available at Bodog right now.

KC has been dreadful. No getting around that. But what's been worse is Denver's defense. They've given up nearly 1,000 yards in their last two games, almost 100 more than any other team in the NFL. They've also given up 500 yards after the catch. This is the kind of defense you want to be backing on the road in a hostile environment and giving two scores? Gonna need a steady diet of LJ tomorrow to shorten this bad boy a little bit, but I'm thinking Denver's pathetic defense is just what KC needs to get things going. Also, feeling better that Huard is starting this one. He's nothing to write home about, but has game experience and can run the offense.

Good Luck Everyone. :pope:

GL with the play Salty. I certainly understand why DD at home in a division game is appealing.

I'm just curious as to why all KC backers are throwing out Den@Oak in week 1 as part as their H'capping? I just don't see Huard as anywhere near the playmaker that Rivers & Brees are. LJ still a solid 20+ carry guy but again....not the playmaker that LT/Sproles/Bush are. Granted, Oak's RBBC still put up 150 on the ground in week 1 but most of those were after Denver had it in the bag & didn't give a shit about the run.

Cutler's is very capable of handing this to KC & the backdoor is always in play in the NFL with DD's.

To me the bottom line is....teams with *multiple* playmakers will continue to expose Denver's D. Teams without, will continue to get blown out by the 'Cos.

Hat, you bring up some great points. Thanks for the post. I'm gonna be honest though, I definitely am throwing out that first game against Oakland. Completely different situation going into that one. A statement needed to be made by Denver in that game on a Monday night game in front of the nation.

"Nobody has been giving us a chance since before the season started," cornerback Dre' Bly said. "They keep picking the Chargers and the Colts and the Pats, and that's what we want. We want to shock the world."

Denver started the year with a chip on their shoulder after last years performance. Now they roll into pathetic 0-3 Kansas City sitting pretty at 3-0 and have all the confidence in the world. Like I said in another thread, imo it's gonna be extremely tough for a Denver team to come into this game with any type of urgency. In fact, it should be a lackluster approach. How can they take this KC team serious? I don't think they will. Could they blow this open? No question. But their defense has been downright atrocious and I think that will at least account for some offense from the Chiefs. Good Luck on Sunday HAT. :toast:

the big difference IMO is the Denver defense and with Huard at QB KC should be able to move the ball better handing the rock to LJ 20-25 times and I expect Bowe to have a big day as well. If LJ can get things going it will without a doubt slow the game down and also open up some nice over the top plays to WR Bowe... As stated above, can Denver blow this open?? The answer is yes but I see them winning by no more than a td.

Right on.....I guess it should be said that I am a big Bronco fan but there are plenty of people around here that can vouch to the fact that I'm a bigger fan of $$$ & have no problem fading my boys when I think it's warranted. (I'm one of those fans that thinks they know their team better than any other so why not focus most of your H'capping on that team?)

Hell, this is exactly the type of game where I normally would have no problem taking the DD to the bank. I mean afterall, I can have my cake & eat it too with a 7 point win.

I guess my big problem with the whole motivation angle is the fact that I think I've got Shanny pegged to a 'T'. He's taken alot of heat over the past few years for 'losing his touch' (When's the last time you heard him referred by his nickname....'the mastermind'?) He's been so damn conservative while Cut was learning the PB & while he was quietly assembling the playmakers on 'O'. I think these first 3 games clearly show that the reigns have been let loose.

Nobody is going to get an argument out of me that their D was pathetic vs. SD & NO. But that right there is where I see Denver keeping their edge & finding a way to get up vs. an 0-3 team. They know that despite scoring in bunches....that most people are doubting them b/c afterall....If it weren't for Hoch & a missed FG by MG they could be 1-2.

I am REALLY tempted to cross +14 & hook up KC in a few 6 pointers with NO, Caro & Jax but can't b/c blowout looks likelier than backdoor cover.

I haven't sent anything in on this one yet. 10 is a whole bunch in today's NFL but I think if KC is to have a shot....it's going to be b/c they expose Denver to last years weakness & hold them to 3's in the RZ instead of 7's.

For anyone who likes KC....you almost have to like the under by default?

One thing's for sure....there's better games on the board.

I think that's a great look at the game HAT. Appreciate the thoughts. Tough to take an under here, but as a KC backer I would say their only shot is to slow this thing down in a major way. Ton of LJ and short passes. So I do agree, but won't be on it.. Good Luck
