First of all, welcome to the RX. I hope you enjoy the site. As to your question, the online sportsbooks are not located in the US but are located internationally. The US passed legislation entitled the UIGEA in 2006. You can look it up by doing a Google search. In this business, everything is risk versus reward and each individual must decide for themselves what is best for them.
What Ted said is correct. That being said, the shop you are in makes a huge difference if you win, 5 Dimes has a solid rep. -- you are as safe there as anywhere. Nothing is 100% for sure though.
