This is a perfect spot for Carolina here. I have been waiting for this game since the summer. With this being the first SEC game of the season for Ole Miss (along with them being overrated in my opinion) they will be walking into a battle tested buzzsaw in front of a packed crowd in Columbia Thurs. night. I fully expect Ole' Ball Coach to let it all hang out here.

I tend to agree, but I'll probably take the points (whatever is available). Love the home teams on THUR night, but even more, I love the home dogs on THUR nights.

It all depends on how our QB play is. Jevan has been shaky in the first 2 starts. He has been missing high alot. He also has been known to throw picks right to the defender. I sure hope it doesnt take 6 games this year to get in a rythym.

Looks like the opening line is Ole Miss -3.5

Gonna be interesting to watch the movement during the week. I know SCar had a few players dinged up last night, question will be the extent of their injuries. What's the latest on OM's LB, Hardy? Last year, SCar went into Oxford after Ole Miss had knocked off the Gators and came out on top. It'll be interesting to see what happens this week.

Jerrell Powe is a star IMO, at 340 lbs he is right in the middle of the Ole Miss DL, he was highly recruited out of high school but missed some time due to academic problems

I disagreed with arkansas, and i gotta disagree with you again. Ole miss is too strong for south carolina.

at least one of us will win

Disagree...

Ole Miss has made it a point to not even remotely show anything other than very vanilla offense and defense.

They have a great offensive coordinator who's really innovative (name escapes me).

South Carolina has a few injury issues (especially on the defense).
Ole Miss' fullback will miss the game and their TE is questionable.

Granted Ole Miss has only played Memphis and a Div II team but they also won their last 6 games of 2008. Currently on an 8 game winning streak and I believe the average margin is just under 30 points a game.

My personal rankings after watching both teams:

QB - advantage Ole Miss
RB - push
OL - push
WR - advantage Ole Miss

DE - advantage Ole Miss
DT - advantage Ole Miss
LB - advantage to SC (mainly because Norwood is an absolute beast)
DB - advantage Ole Miss

I look for Ole Miss to win by 10+. Hate to go opposite of everyone, but this will likely be my biggest play of the week. Gonna do a bit more analysis before coming up with how large a number to play it though.

Kent Austin is our Ocs name. I hope your right SECplayer. I believe if Snead protects the ball that we will be fine.

I (along with everyone) *WANT* the Gamecocks to win but I don't think they'll get it done... their time will come later in the season to make a big statement.
