In the first game...the clock was running the entire first half.. Even after first downs. They stopped the clock for about 2 seconds and then started it with the play clock.

But in oregon/texas. Guy gets pushed out of bounds and the clock is stopped until they snap again....?? And after penalties the clock is stopped until the ball is placed.

What are the rules? I saw it with my own two eyes. The rules must change for every game

Stops if out if bounds. Restarts at snap

Thats what i thought as well but the first game that wasnt the case. If you "hurry up" , they must start the clock immediately because there is no huddle

That's what i thought, but some of crews do & some don"t,wtf, lol.

I noticed this too. It's definitely an interesting thing to keep an eye on.

I didn't know the clock started again after an incomplete pass but saw it in the Navy game.

Joey Galloway the announcer for the navy game, even commented during the 1st qtr.about how fast the game was going.

Not even to mention how bad the spotting is. 2nd and 1s all of the time is a go deep down... They give them the first downs all the time when it is a yard short. Make the game right

The clock stops when the player/ball goes out of bounds, however, if there are more than 2 minutes on the clock in then the clock starts again on the Referee's signal, which is when the ball is spotted.
If there is less than 2 minutes in either 2nd or 4th qtrs and the player goes out of bounds then it starts on the snap. This rule changed in 2008.

Thats the basics.

in college when ball goes out of bounds, clock is stopped until ref spots the ball, normally 6-8 sec. on first downs it stopped to move chains. normally 8-10 sec unless its just a 1 yard gain then the chains are moved more swiftly and clock starts sooner. the last 2min of half and game when out of bounds occur it is stopped completely until the ball is snapped. in nfl its the last 5min of game and 2min first half. hope this helps

they have running clock rules, but one team (usually the one losing bad) has to ask for the refs to use it to speed the game up and get it over with. It happened earlier in the year with FIU/LOU IIRC where the Cardinals hung 72 on them. Not sure if thats what you're talking about or not, but doubt it. Just thought id share.

over 2 minutes, when a player goes out of bounds, the clock starts when ball is set, not at the snap.

PI in college is 15 yards. I like that more than nfl, where qbs just chuck 1 in the air and hope for a 40 yard PI call
