Iowa State has put themselves in the hunt as well, Fish. A couple nice road wins recently.

Fish- I think they need the conference tourney. 6 losses in MVC so far I think, they really needed that Iowa or Cincy game not to mention a couple more MVC wins.

UNI is not getting an at-large bid. It's very simple.....they are not that good. I went to the game yesterday, and was not impressed. They got every break, including a banked three-pointer by Jacobson in the final minutes, and barely escaped with a win. And I don't think they will win the MVC tourney either, because Illinois St will beat them if they play again.

Bama doesn't protect the ball well enough to win it all, and is aloof for too many stretches, though very talented.

The SEC is very weak this year, and is gonna have egg on it's face yet again in tourney play, as it appears to have only 4 teams in for sure, with a longshot max of 5 or 6 possibly.

Don't be fooled by the two division leader's records, as the conference is very weak in the middle and bottom for a few years now, thus both have a majority of easy games each week.

Ky and Bama are the only two that should even flirt or taste the Sweet 16..and even they are suspect to get that far.

Ky has a nice squad of lanky players that protect teams from easy looks in the paint, they can score well in transition, yet for all their hype, they really live and die with Chuck Hayes, and have played really only Kansas and Louisville.

Bama has some furture NBA picks that can really run the floor, and knockdown pull-up jumpers from 20 to 24 ft, and though a tad better than last year, are still prone to get into lax gym-ball games with teams that can push it, of which few SEC teams can do this year, yet many tourney teams can.

MSU, is dangerous if had Frazier back, yet without him, leans too heavily on Roberts down on the blocks, and relies on a few spot-up shooters from their kickouts, all of which can be defensed by a good team in tourney play.

Florida, has great outside shooters(mainly Walsh) that can be streaky, yet they don't defend well, don't protect the ball well(though improved this year with frosh PG), and are soft on the blocks at ball denial.

LSU has a few nice big men, but have a thin bench that doesn't contribute, and is not consistent enough in any one area of their team.

Arkansas has two nice streaky scorers in Modica and Brewer, and some long players that can run well yet can't finish well. The Hogs just play stupid at times, as they could go to the Sweet 16, yet also could lose by 15 to a MVC school in their 1st game..if even get in at all.

Coppering the SEC as tourney chalk this March will make money once again!
