this is the best way i can put it..again
If rudy is even considered, given his undefensable ignorance on Middle Eastern policy, in these times when middle eastern policy is in the fore-front.....It was Ron Paul who was being considered to get kicked out of the debates! The audience actually feverishly cheered one of the most foot in your mouth moment's in televised debate history...we've been on the brink but now i see that:
AMERICAN PROPAGANDA IS STRONGER THAN NAZI GERMANY PROPAGANDA!

"Someone else" leading Ron Paul, 4 % to less than 1 %.

Of course, undecided is running neck to neck with Rudy.

Undecided is my man baby! He stands for everything I do, and on every issue no less.

and he's kicking Ron Paul's ass.

Ron Paul should wait for a terror attack and then spend all of his time smiling from the 1st row of Yankee Stadium. According to righties, that's "strong leadership."

For the record I dont like Rudy and his dramatics at the debate were laughable but Ron Paul is as well....so I guess they cancel each other out.

Hello BASEHEAD. If you wouldn't mind elaborating on what made Ron Paul "laughable" (that is what you meant by the above quote, correct?) in your view, I'd appreciate it.

Not made...makes him laughable.....

Two big things stick out to me,well three.....

1.Ron Paul is a gold bug, thus skewing alot of his rhetoric economically towards the fantasy of reverting back to a gold standard and doing away with the fed, which in utopia would be fantastic but in reality no longer feasible. The system certainly needs repair but anyone who issues this as the solution and is dead serious, must be taken with a grain of salt. However I beleive hes beleives it possible which make him sincere but unrealistic, which is admirable but not the type of person the American public will vote in as CIC,sorry.

2.His lack of effort even now to dissassociate himself from the freaks who twist his words and take his comments out of context for their "truth" movement is certainly troubling. Its clear to those that follow Paul he clearly has no conspiracy theory of his own and is just demanding accountability from the government, which is once again admirable, he loses credibility by not adressing the way hes being used a poster boy for the "truthers".This will be a major hurdle for him to overcome if he lets the innuendo continue under the guise of expert testimony.

3.We all just read the piece from Paul posted here yesterday. What else is there understand about him.Hes got no grasp of the enemy we'll be fighting for years and years.Pulling every soldier out of every ourpost worldwide, most importantly the ME is a foolish notion and a recipe for disaster.Preemptive action is a must in this day and age and Paul categorically states hes against it.Do not bother lecturing me about the war and its legality or validity b/c it is not of consequence here. You asked why I find him laughable....take it or leave it.

Its sad I find alot of decent qualities in him, that given the right streamlining and mangagement, could make him a viable candidate but Paul has chosen the route hes going to go down his whole career, which is once again admirable but grassroots/truthers aint going to cut it Im afraid.

That's interesting, as you have repeatedly emphasized above (thrice in fact) that you think him to be "admirable" which isn't congruent at all with "laughable." You also mentioned him to be "sincere," "decent," and said he could be "viable" given the right kind of management, none of which is synonymous with "laughable." I suspect either that you're using words loosely, or that you don't really find yourself laughing at him.

I agree with your last statement Base. Ron Paul will not win this election because his ideas are not taken seriously by the mainstream.

I still plan on voting for him as a protest vote. Hopefully we will see enough votes for him in order for things to change.

On your 1st point, I recently saw an interview in which he talks about what a Paul administration would look like and he talked about parallel systems - including a paraellel monetary system.

ding-ding-ding we have a winner. Ron Paul needs no enemies. Every stumbling block he could ever need is conveniently pre-placed by his supporters.

Ron Paul has exactly zero chance of winning the presidency. He has a chance to win the Republican nomination, but it's so close to zero that it might as well be zero too. Paul's supporters (many of whom don't seem to actually get the issues anyway -- they just love a Republican who doesn't toe the line, as if Paul's the only one ever) fail or refuse to recognise the sad fact of the matter: Americans don't want what Paul is selling. But if you can believe the Jews, or the bankers, or the Jewish bankers, or whomever the fuck, are really secretly in charge and that Americans are all just collectively hapless victims of this conspiracy and that, then you can believe that someone like Ron Paul will come and save us. The two go hand in hand, like believing in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

You mean, Americans don't even know what Paul is offering. You seem to be a follower of the Austrian school of economics and a free-market capitalist, and you probably think Lincoln was bad for America, so to that extent you should go hand-in-hand with Ron Paul. The fact that he won't win the presidency is merely a testament to the present state of the general American populace: inevitably mired in ignorance and inertia.

That was kind of my point dude. But you put Paul's platform in black and white and do some canvassing. Be sure to mention the end of most government services, total withdrawal from the UN and all troops everywhere come home, end the Federal Reserve system and it's stupid Monopoly money currency etc. The fact that these are on the whole good ideas does not mean they are ideas that will ever have any traction with Americans.

Thanks for the post Nep, as I was a bit confused wondering why P wasnt supporting Paul.

After reading his most recent post I now understand...been a long weekend.

Paul is a great American and although he has no chance to win, at least his recent exposure is giving people greater understanding about his ideas.
