We don't condone the actions of her unwed, pregnant underage daughter, we support Sarah Palin because of the judges she will eventually appoint to the Supreme Court.

By the time Roe v. Wade is overturned, "Bristol Palin" will be long forgotten.

Your post is irrelevant -- pure politics, nothing more.

republicans have had the white house for 20 of the last 28 years....

7 of 9 supreme court justices have been nominated by republican presidents...

why do we still have abortion?

i hate it. i think as a nation we should be ashamed that we kill more babies than anyone else in the world... we are all about the rights of men, women, black, white, yellow, retards, fags, lesbians, midgets but not of the unborn...

but it is despicable that the right uses this as a political fodder to tug at the heart strings of social conservatives when they do nothing about it.

That is a lie.

The only way Roe v. Wade gets over-turned is when there is a
replacement to the leftists on the Supreme Court. Republicans
have been nominating pro-ife Supreme Court Justices over and over,
they can't make them all stick.

liberal mccain was against overturning roe v. wade in 1999 he flip flop and now supports it?

Abortion

As the Associated Press reported on August 24, 1999, while on the campaign trail in New Hampshire that year, McCain proclaimed himself a pro-life candidate. However, he told reporters that "in the short term, or even the long term, I would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade." When his comments came under fire from pro-life groups, he wrote a letter to the National Right to Life Committee, stating: "I share our common goal of reducing the staggering number of abortions currently performed in this country and overturning the Roe vs. Wade decision."

I don't think abortions will ever be illegal again. I'm setting my sights on late term abortions, that is when the baby can survive outside the womb, you can no longer kill it.

Obama has supported beyond any reasonable doubt that you can still kill a baby even if it is actually surviving outside the womb. Those are the beliefs of a fucked up person.

I agree about Obama's views Willie but if you look at the history of your party is it not hypocritical to continue talking about this issue?

As I (and another) wrote in a different thread, I believe the overriding desire is to keep it as a wedge issue and that once (if ever) Roe v. Wade is overturned, Republicans will take a beating at the voting booth. The status quo gives them the optimum electoral mileage.

Well I know last year they out-lawed partial-birth abortion, much
to the dismay of Obama, Clinton, and most of the other Democrats.

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court upheld the nationwide ban on a controversial abortion procedure Wednesday, handing abortion opponents the long-awaited victory they expected from a more conservative bench.
The 5-4 ruling said the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act that Congress passed and President Bush signed into law in 2003 does not violate a woman's constitutional right to an abortion.
Click here to read the full Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act.
The opponents of the act "have not demonstrated that the Act would be unconstitutional in a large fraction of relevant cases," Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in the majority opinion.
The decision pitted the court's conservatives against its liberals, with President Bush's two appointees, Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito, siding with the majority.
Justices Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia also were in the majority.
It was the first time the court banned a specific procedure in a case over how — not whether — to perform an abortion.

It is a sharp post

I believe it almost became a state issue when Doug Wilder ran for Gov of Virginia and won on that single issue. If it was illegal it wouldn't help pubs at the voting booth

I'm not dancing, it's the truth.

Part of the DNC's platform is pro-abortion, that is a fact.

But, you do raise a good question why abortion is still legal
given the facts you raise about the make-up of the Supreme
Court over the last 28 years. I don't have a good answer for you
off the top of my head. All I can do is say that I will research it, it
is a valid question, no doubt.

it was answered for you zit in this very thread

its obvious

once you overturn roe v. wade you lose some of the leverage from attracting the pro-life anti-abortionists
