I've been doing this for years and I won't
guarantee all winners, but I have always won
more than I have lost by taking the Dog in the
traditional rivalries. In many, you can throw
out all the stats, trends and systems. Actually
I'm not holding to that theory here, but I'll
explain as we go along.
SOUTH CAROLINA E
The Cocks aren't getting points here but they
are at home. Bowden got himself off the hook
by beating his Dad. They are some after Lou's
head in Columbia, and I think boys will win one
for Holtz and the Scarlet and Crimson.
MICHIGAN -7
Again, not the Dog, and I may be wrong, but I
think the importance of this game goes far
beyond the rivalry. Michigan is the better
team and is going to find a way to win in the
Big House, covering in the process.
VANDERBILT +21
Here's a good one for you. Tennessee has kind
of underachieved all year. Vandy is just Vandy
but they hate UT. Vols don't really care about
this one. Vandy stays close.
ALABAMA +8
Too many points. This is Alabama's season now.
Auburn has not impressed me. If this was still
at Legion Field or in Tuscaloosa, the Tide wins
outright.
STANFORD +10.5
A very overlooked rivalry. Again, too many points. I'm going with Stanford because they are probably smarter.
UTAH -8
I'm going against the system here. Utah is just
a better team and its not that big a number.
BIG 12 PICKS:
KANSAS -10
This one gets the Hawks in bowl game. They have
Whittemore back at QB and although they have
failed to cover for me the last two weeks, I'm
taking them as my Play of the Week.
MISSOURI/KANSAS ST OVER 55.5
I can't bring myself to say the Tigers can't
cover the 14.5, but they probably won't.
Aggieville is not the place you want to go if
you have to win a big game. I don't see a
defensive struggle here. Mizzou should score
20. The Cats will take care of the rest.
TEXAS TECH/OKLAHOMA OVER 75.5
I don't think OU can shut Symons down completely. They are a different team at
home and may even manange to stay close.
The given here is that OU will score at will
and we may not need any pts. from the Raiders.

ILLINOIS +4
WASHINGTON +7
