That's too young. Damn!

No one in here will have a good word to say about Alan Colmes so I will. He was a good counter to Sean Hannity when they did their show together. Now 80% of the time I agreed with Hannity. And their were even times where Colmes would say something and I would wonder how he arrived to that train of thought. But unlike many on TV who took the Left side Colmes didn't bring an angry demeanor with him. RIP

Agreed. Didn't care for most of his opinions but he was a likable guy. It's pretty hard not to appreciate the guy once you've had to listen to Sally Kohn for 5 minutes.

Yes, WAY too young!

He was a wacky liberal but likable and funny, never mean spirited.

Him and Sean got along great off camera.

RIP

I thought he was there to be a punching bag but overall a good man and was a needed voice to check BushCo back a decade or so ago when things were a bit sketch. RIP to this.

Popular Fox News contributor Alan Colmes passed away at the age of 66 on Thursday.
The news of Colmes' death was reported by Sean Hannity, who called the popular broadcaster 'one of the nicest, kindest, and most generous people' in a pre-taped breaking news segment that aired on Fox News.
Colmes and Hannity worked together for over 20 years, with both men joining Fox News back in 1996 when they launched their show Hannity & Colmes, which ran for 13 years on the network.
That program focused on conservative Hannity and liberal Colmes giving their takes on the news of the day.
Colmes is survived by his wife of 13 years Dr. Jocelyn Elise Crowley, who released a statement on Thursday asking for privacy during this time and revealing that her husband died after a brief illness.
'He was a great guy, brilliant, hysterical, and moral. He was fiercely loyal, and the only thing he loved more than his work was his life with Jocelyn. He will be missed,' read the statement.

Colmes was on the the few liberals who appeared on the top-rated cable news network, and many of his colleagues paid tribute to him on social media after learning of his passing.
Alan, in the midst of great sickness and illness, showed the single greatest amount of courage I’ve ever seen. And through it all, he showed his incredible wit and humor that was Alan’s signature throughout his entire life.
-Sean Hannity on Colmes

Megyn Kelly was one of the first to comment, writing on Twitter: 'Heartbroken my friend Alan Colmes has died. He lit up the FNC halls w/his kindness & humor. Incredibly positive force. Prayers 4 his family.'
'So sad to hear of the death of Fox News colleague Alan Colmes. He and I agreed on little, but I liked him immensely. Good guy. R.I.P.,' wrote Brit Hume.
'WHAT? @AlanColmes passed away????? Noooooooooooo! Very sad. He was a good guy. Always surprised people that way,' said Ann Coulter.
And in a more proper tribute, Bill Hemmer wrote: 'A wonderful man. I will miss your spirit, Alan.'
Hannity meanwhile further elaborated on Colmes' illness by stating: 'Alan, in the midst of great sickness and illness, showed the single greatest amount of courage I’ve ever seen. And through it all, he showed his incredible wit and humor that was Alan’s signature throughout his entire life.'

Colmes was born in New York City and attended Hofstra University, where he worked for the college radio station.
That then turned into a career for Colmes, who after graduating in 1971 worked for a number of stations before getting his big break while appearing on WABC.
It was there that he hosted the morning radio program, a position that managed to land him an even bigger job at WNBC in 1987, where his shows were syndicated across the country.
That was short lived however, with the network deciding to shut down the radio station the following year, at which point Colmes created his own company with other radio hosts that they called Daynet.
[h=3]MONICA CROWLEY REMEMBERS COLMES[/h]'I am heartbroken at the loss of my sweet brother-in-law Alan Colmes. He passed away this morning after a brief illness, which he fought with extraordinary courage, strength and grace.
'Alan was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He took his beliefs and work seriously and at the same time lived his life full of joy, laughter and commitment.
'He loved what he did for a living, and he loved those around him---without condition. During the most heated political debates, his infectious sense of humor would come through, and before you knew it, even his staunchest political opponents were smiling.
'He was incredibly kind, generous and warm---and completely devoted to my sister and our family. He was a gentle soul and a good man.
'He was my friend. And I will miss him every day.
'Rest in peace, dear Alan.'

Colmes also earned the honor of being the final voice to sign off on WNBC as host of the last ever radio show to air on the channel.
Things took a turn for Colmes in 1996 when he got a call asking him to take his act in front of the camera when Roger Ailes asked him to join a new cable news network that Rupert Murdoch was launching, Fox News.
He stayed there for the next 20 years, and Fox News also distributes his radio program.
The first 13 years were spent as a host on Hannity & Colmes, and after he left that position in 2008 he never returned to hosting and instead appeared as a contributor or commentator.
After he left the show, then CEO Ailes said: 'Alan is one of the key reasons why FOX News has been such a remarkable success. We’re sad to see him leave the program but we look forward to his ongoing contributions to the network.'
Colmes appeared on a number of shows in this capacity, including Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld and Fox News Watch.
And in addition to radio and television, Colmes also released a book in 2003 entitled Red, White & Liberal: How Left is Right and Right is Wrong.
It was that same year that he wed his wife, who is a Professor of Public Policy at Rutgers University.
Dr. Crowley also holds positions in the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies, the Department of Political Science and the Center for Workforce Development at the New jersey state college.
She landed there after attending some of the country's most prestigious colleges and universities, earning her bachelor's degree from Cornell, her master's degree from Georgetown and her doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Her current study focuses on couples who divorce after the age of 50, and the completed findings will be presented in 2018 when she publishes her finished work entitled 'Gray Divorce: What We Lose and Gain from Mid-Life Splits.'

Touching: His sister-in-law Monica Crowley, who frequently appeared alongside him on Fox News, said he 'fought with extraordinary courage, strength and grace' in the end

Colmes' most frequent appearances on Fox News in recent years were on The O'Reilly Factor.
The liberal was frequently joined by his very conservative sister-in-law Monica Crowley during those segments.
Monica remembered Colmes in a Facebook post on Thursday, writing: 'He passed away this morning after a brief illness, which he fought with extraordinary courage, strength and grace.'
As I previously mentioned on the show last year, there would be times I would be taking off from the show to deal with a medical issue. This is why I’ve been out recently and will be out this week as well. But I will be back taking your calls as soon as I can.
-Colmes to listeners of his radio show on January 30

She went on to praise Colmes for being a true gentleman, saying: 'He took his beliefs and work seriously and at the same time lived his life full of joy, laughter and commitment. He loved what he did for a living, and he loved those around him---without condition.'
Monica also wrote that he was 'kind, generous and warm, 'completely devoted to my sister and our family' and 'a gentle soul and a good man.'
Hannity later called in to America's Newsroom to speak with Hemmer about his friend, revealing that he had known for some time that this day was coming and had been hoping for a miracle.
He then spoke about Colmes' character.
'I just want people to remember that in terms of human decency, you know we're living in a time of incivility, Alan was civil,' said Hanniy.
'Alan was kind. He was the staunchest supporter of freedom of speech that I've every met in my life, and that was one big area we agreed on.'
He then spoke about Monica, saying he had talked to her earlier and urged everyone watching to read her tribute to her brother-in-law.

Questionable remembrance: 'He and I agreed on little, but I liked him immensely,' wrote brit Hume on Twitter (above)

The adoration and admiration Monica had for Colmes was shared by all who knew him according to Hannity.
'Every single person I know in that [Fox News] building loved Alan. Everyone knew he was funny, nice and kind.'
Hannity then added: 'And the world is a darker place today because that great human being left us.'
Alan is one of the key reasons why FOX News has been such a remarkable success. We’re sad to see him leave the program but we look forward to his ongoing contributions to the network.
-Roger Ailes on Colmes in 2008

He also added that his thoughts and prayers were with Colmes' widow Dr. Crowley, who he said is struggling after her husband's passing.
After thanking Hannity for calling in, Hemmer said: 'Life is precious. Life is short. And Alan Colmes has left all of us.'
Hannity also used his tribute to Colmes that aired on Fox News to pay tribute to their old show, noting that 'when the show ended it was by far the number one show in its slot on cable news and consistently one of the top rated shows on cable.'
Members of the Fox News team past and present as well as those from Fox Business Network kept the tributes pouring in throughout the morning.
'Alan Colmes was always a gentleman...always kind...a wonderful colleague,' wrote former Fox News host Greta Van Susteren.
'Devastated to hear @AlanColmes has passed. Such a sweet soul, always fun to spar with, and always ready to laugh,' wrote Fox Business Network host Kennedy.
'Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my @FoxNews colleague @AlanColmes. A very nice, genuine man I had the pleasure to work with,' wrote Meghan McCain.

Best get: In 2008 Colmes got to sit down with the nominee for vice president at the time, Joe Biden (above)

Colmes first revealed that he was battling an illness of some kind last year to listeners on his radio show.
He once again informed them of his situation on January 30, unaware of the fact that he had hosted his last ever show 10 days prior.
That last show was on the same day as President Donald Trump's inauguration.
'As I previously mentioned on the show last year, there would be times I would be taking off from the show to deal with a medical issue,' said Colmes.
'This is why I’ve been out recently and will be out this week as well. But I will be back taking your calls as soon as I can.'
Colmes never returned to the airwaves.

It's funny you say that because if you read his Wiki page he was pretty proud to be a liberal. Unabashed I would say.

I didn't know he was 66.

I would have guessed he was younger.
