Do not compare their games with San Jose State and ignore the line move on SMU. San Jose burned Rice with several long passes and added a punt return and an INT for touchdowns-I cannot see this happening here. As for SMU beating San Jose-anybody can win one game.SMU cannot throw very well and they certainly cannot run the ball. Look for Rice to control the clock with their ground attack and pull away for an easy victory. SMU is my alma mater and I have been waiting for a good spot to go against them-this is it.

Rice-13 I will play them in the first half as well.

I dont' know...

if I want to be on the Owls this week again. I had a very good week last week with my only loss being the Owls. It was a bet more against the terrible San Jost St team than for Rice.

How can you allow 70 points to a team as bad as San Jose St? Rice I believe had a 31 to 7 or 34 to 7 lead at one point and the Spartans started scoring at will vs. Rice. I don't think I can consider them this week against another horrible opponent. Just my 2 cents.

Low Tide,
When were you at SMU? I also went there long ago. My daughters are there now and I was at the San Jose State game for Parents' Weekend. Both teams were so bad, I took Boise and Rice this past weekend thinking they were slam dunks. Go figure. I agree the Ponies are pathetic, but they seem to have played the tougher teams (so far TTech and Boise) well within the point spreads.

I love the fundamental edge Rice has in this game. This game will be decided by Rice's rushing attack-2nd in the nation with 325/g and over 5 yards a carry.SMU's rush d is soft as they allow 4.4 yards a carry and 182 yards a game. This would be much worse if they had faced teams that like to run as TTech,Boise and San Jose like to throw it all over the field.

The situation has changed as well. I think a potential flat spot has become a must win game as Rice will be on the road for three consecutive games after this one. If they want to be a factor in the conference race they must win here.

Lumpy, I was at SMU from 87-92.I was on the tennis team from 87-91. I have not been to visit in quite some time. Of course, now it would be too depressing to sit in front of Dallas Hall and watch the women go by as they would all ignore me. Like most of SMU's athletic programs-I ain't what I used to be.

smu and lumpy

I think my buddy tried to play tennis down there during that time. His name is Troy Smith, actually there were a lot of KC boys there. Just wondering if you knew him.
