<span class="ev_code_RED">RECORD NUMBERS LAID OFF, REHIRED AT LOWER WAGES: According to a newly released government report, "layoffs occurred at the second-fastest rate on record during the first three years of the Bush administration." During Bush's presidency, "the layoff rate reached 8.7 percent of all adult jobholders, or 11.4 million men and women age 20 or older." More disturbingly, "56.9 percent of those who said they were re-employed also said they were earning less in their new jobs than in the jobs they had lost."</span>

I know - Clinton would have squashed this before it even came to the surface

Even gore could have taken care of this before it hurt our economy

me included

I mean clinton would have spent a few bucks squashing some asprin factories and those terrorists would have been wishing they had never hated us

the fiscal responsibility he or gore would have shown in comparison to bush would have made us all proud to be americans

Doom and Gloom.

Kerry loses big, I wouldn't miss the liberal Meltdown for tickets to the World series.

World series tickets are pretty damn good

and if gore didnt have it all stolen from him (which is why I personally think he should have ran for reelection) then I could actually afford the tickets to the grand old game!!!!!

Jay,

That's so tired and old of an arguement. Not one single credible recount showed Gore won. So it's you and Gore that actually believe it. The night of Nov 2nd when Bush wins again the excuses will be hilarious.

well gore was the winner and I have a quote from Mr John kerry himself that proves it

he said that HE would NOT let MILLIONS of voters this year be DISENFRANCHISED like they were against gore

and that is why HE will be our next GREAT leader!!!!

If Clinton would have been able to run for a third term, W would still be in Texas. Gore screwed it up and tried to change things on a perfectly good formula. The lessons from that, the whole idea of trying to do too much when the easy route gets you a win is first in the minds of Kerry and his team. Sure they would love to see all their proposals made into law, but they also know there isn't a chance in hell they get them through while the GOP runs Congress. Gore made that mistake, he made it sound like he had this grand platform and that Congress wasn't doing enough in the years of Clinton. That sounds great to the core, but when you want to win an election it is all about what do voters think of the guy in office today and Kerry is capitalizing on that as best as he can.

"perfectly good formula"

People were sick of Clinton's formula and I don't believe he would have been reelected. Its a nice thought but you forget that the more gore distanced himself from clinton the better he did.

I wondered what Clinton would have done to reverse the rcession that started at the end of his term?...Raise taxes...How about after 9/11?...nothing and raise taxes to off set the trillion dollar hit to the economy.
Without Bushes tax cuts the economy would be about 5 times a worse.

Clinton won 43% of the vote in 92, 49% in 1996, and then was kept in a lockbox by Al Gore because Gore knew how unpopular Clinton was in 2000. Nice speculation, but he was hardly a slam-dunk in elections.

Patriot - that is correct

Clinton would have left taxes alone if not try to raise them more and sacrificed the entire economy in the name of fiscal responsibility.

I find it funny now how the party line is that they will only turn back the tax cut for the wealthiest segment and leave it alone for the rest of the country - when if it werent for Bush's success in getting the tax cut to us the dems would be trying to convince us we need a tax increase to cover the hit that the budget would have taken due to the recession and 9-11
