The chargers didn't want to take the risk with brees for the next season because he was going to get surgery in his shoulder or arm, I remember the last game when he get injured.
I prefer Brees instead Rivers, a much better guy as a person and as a QB

im not a huge rivers or chargers fan

but i do think if chargers kept brees around they would of made it to the super bowl last year or even maybe the year before. having LT run over everyone and brees at qb that might of given the chargers the extra little push they needed

I agree! Brees is still one of the best in the NFL. I like the chargers(not quite my favorite but close enough). Its too bad they didnt get rid of Rivers instead but hind sight is 20/20...too late now!
