Bin Laden said he wanted to weaken our economy. Bush is helping him in his goals.

I remember when we recoiled in horror because we lost 18 men in somalia - after killing perhaps a thousand of them. this is a new time and a new era. We shall roll on toward victory, in spite of the weak and the timid.

Quote jeffry22: We shall roll on toward victory, in spite of the weak and the timid.

Agreed.
I have never seen so much whining-- and out-of-perspective nit-picking...

Note to all armchair qb's: Lead, Follow, or get out of the way.

What do people expect from a war? Our population is 300 million, since the war started, in just my city alone, there have been more murders! And this is w/o even counting fatalities caused by accident, suicide, terminal illness......

Further note to all whiners who are SO concerned over the loss of EACH & EVERY human life: Put your money where your mouth is: Concerned about death, want to save some lives? Drive to your city's bad neighborhood & offer rides to senior citizens risking their lives to go shopping, to women walking to work while dodging junkies & gangs...

And for Homework, read again this fine speech: http://www.lilesnet.com/patriotic/thoughts/StandUp.htm

Thanx for the thought Lander, but i meant it:

Support who's in charge here and/or DO something constructive: criticizing while doing nothing just encourages the rest of the mistaken world. And most of the world IS mistaken:

Just the fact that most are Socialists(anti-personal accountability & responsibility) of some type, the rest live in parts where their strict religion stifles the economy-- which they then blame on some foreign country.

Majority opinion is not to be trusted re military action. The majority has not the fortitude & wherewithall to form a level-headed opinion re war-- the majority only come on board when it's practically too late; the two World Wars being the best-known examples:
the world over Pacifists & other non-interventionists rioted / killed(how oxymoronic) to prevent the helping of a country being attacked without provocation... NIMBY
In Europe & Asia, entire peoples & countries we were conveniently sacrificed by their neighbors-- NIMBY

In essence we are all paying nowadays for two things:

the one big mistake of the Vienam War: the draft. Yes, Commumism had to be fought to save the world, but the government had no right to draft its own non-volunteer citizens & send them to fight in a foreign land-- this, compounded with

Nixon's excesses, prodded in large part by his extreme paranoia, spawned entire generations of activists who view all government as corrupt & evil, & all military action as wrong.
These generations of activists & chronic complainers have in turn begotten descendants who find it noble to march & complain at the drop of a hat: paralyzing the business economy, government budget & daily life of the poor geographical area targeted,
generations who 'blindly view' one particular political party as Evil & its counterpart as Good,
generations of conspiracy theorists that cannot argue any point logically: they assume the worst of an issue when it suits them & if the proof cannot be shown to the public for Security reasons, they assume conspiracy-- conversely when the proof is shown, falsification charges shrilly ring out.

It takes above-average courage & intelligence to separate the wheat from the chaff, to pluck the flower from the thorny bush--- something the majority of the world will very seldom be able to accomplish, simply because it's average or below.

Support whos in charge??

That makes me laugh ... we are talking about a man who blew off advice from his generals .. a man who told by his father not to invade Iraq

We're in a flappin mess ... if speaking about this mess makes a Liberal .. I am damn proud!!!

We have kids dying every day .. it aint gonna get any worse .. Democracy starts from within - not by dropping 150,000 soldiers into a Muslim based society where the country is divided by 3 religious sectors that hate each other ..

Bush is gonna have to soon bite the bullet .. admit he screwed up and get our boys home as this Dream of him and the Neocons is turning into a VERY FLAPPIN EXPENSIVE venture for this country and has accomplished NOTHING except loss of respect throughout the word, 1100 of our great young kids are dead and a country that will explode into civil war when he have decided it aint worth it ...

Cheney said in a 92 interview that losing American kids was not worth the effort of removing Hussein .. wish someone had played him that tape before this military blunder was launched

We need to be one unified country-- the team with the most unselfish team players............................

He not only had to fix his father's faux pas......but more imminently, he has to get rogue nations to cease & desist.

If we become isolationist--& just resort to useless UN / NATO shuttle diplomacy w/o direct involvement-- somebody one day will destroy the planet.

How else are NKorea, Russia, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Lybia, Pakistan, India, China, & so own down to others in Africa / Asia going to be kept in check if they know military action's off the table & they can turn to France, Germany, et al to circumvent any toothless punitive embargo? Yes, i include countries like Russia, China, & Saudi Arabia too: they're only one different head of state removed from the others.

If WMD's didn't exist, if suicide bombers didn't exist-- we wouldn't be there. If Iraq was the only rogue nation, or two or three, we wouldn't be there.

No other nation is capable nor, worse yet, even willing-- to actively protect this planet. Every time some tragedy occurs, the cries go up why we don't do something, why we're not there yet. This planet has to be actively protected because any small nation or group can be capable of destroying it-- and Jimmy Carter-type diplomacy ain't gonna cut it.
