He also took him out right before the 3rd and 1 before the missed FG at the end. The dumb part about that was that Payton then proceeded to give it to Thomas, who isn't nearly as strong or fast as Bush, and that play lost yardage leading ultimately to the missed FG. Was giving it to Thomas after taking Bush out suppose to be some kind of sneaky 'sharp' call? If so, it fooled no one. Should've kept Bush in on 3rd as a decoy or just thrown to him out of the backfield.
