play this at your own risk. we seen penn st. with similar #'s vs akron and syracuse. i been following state closely last 2 games. they could have easily covered both but are making too many point costly mistakes.

Penn st is showing that they will not cover the large spreads this year.
This could be a trend?

F*** Penn State. Those chumps couldn't cover for me after leading 31-0 at halftime in Week 1. All we heard about during the summer was how are they going to replace the WRs? However, they have been fine along with QB Daryll Clark. The running game is average at best which is surprising considering that was supposed to be the bread and butter of the offense.

I 100% believe Darryl Clark was shaving points in the last game.

i went with penn st first week.... miserable experience

learned my lesson the second week and took the cuse.... $$$

bottomline this team can't cover large #'s. they can't run they can't finish in the red zone.

Absolute no way shape or form this is the #5 team in the nation. Fade this team ATS. gl

I was thinking the same thing about this line. So far it's looked like Paterno intends to take his foot off the gas at the four-touchdown-lead mark against weak opponents.

Maybe they covered the previous two years in big spreads because JoePa was way up in the booth and now he is on the sidelines. Before they could block out the "old man" and say sure, grandpa, but now he is right there on the sideline to give them crap

Wow, Go For It, that is a really interesting and plausible point. PSU really ran it up against FIU a couple years ago.

I watched a lot of that game (had money on Penn State), and I didn't get that impression. However, I'm not about to say you're wrong. Can you throw out a couple of examples of suspicious plays?

He's been doing that for years. For PSU to destroy a team they need the running game/O-Line to be top of the heap. They don't have that this year. They are more dependent on passing to get up, then when they get up, they shut down and run the ball.

Paterno hasn't passed the ball while up 4 TD's in 40 years, he's not gonna change now.

Fumble snap early inside the 2. The INT. A play in the early 4th quarter he had a scramble for big yards but "stumbled."

Clark is insanely accurate with the ball when he has time. He was missing guys by alot.

Eh - looking at how they've played and their weak OOC schedule it almost seams like preseason. Just stick to the basics and cruise into B10 play and get back to the Rose Bowl (national title out of the question.) Could provide us with some good value once they hit conference play though.

If someone wanted to back Penn State, I would suggest 1st H, 1st Q, & 2nd Q wagers as compared to full game ones. If they build a big lead, you could probably pad the bankroll fading them in the 2nd H.
