“I Would ‘Eric Hipple’ His Ass”

10/22/16

If only Scot Brantley could turn back the clock.

One of the most ferocious-hitting linebackers in Bucs history, Brantley seems to be chomping at the bit trying to find a magic elixir so he can become 30 years younger and take the field at Levi’s Stadium tomrrow. He openly drooled at the thought of knocking Sideshow Bob into the middle of next week while speaking on the “Ron and J.P.” show yesterday, heard on WDAE-AM 620 yesterday.

You know, Sideshow Bob, the National Anthem-kneeling, history-challenged, Supreme Court Justice-sparring, Fidel Castro-loving 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

“I tell ya what: Colin Kaepernick, if I am a defensive player, I’m getting 15 yards,” Brantley said. “I would clothesline his ass. Or if he is going to the sidelines and is stepping out of bounds, I’m pushing his ass over and into the wall. I will take my 15 yards and my fine. I’m taking him out. I would Eric Hipple his ass.”

The Eric Hipple reference is to the former Lions quarterback. Brantley, a Bucs starter at middle linebacker through much of the 1980s, splashed him so hard after he rolled out of the pocket to the sideline, local authorities likely found Hipple’s teeth on Dale Mabry Highway. It was one of the most bone-rattling hits Joe has ever seen. Video is below.

Later in the interview, Brantley softened his stance, only a little, saying, “I was kind of kidding. I wouldn’t want to hurt somebody.” Brantley also said he would be very surprised if someone on the Bucs defense doesn’t already have a mental bulls-eye planted on Sideshow Bob.

A nobody from the worst franchise of the 80s should just keep his mouth shut. Good to see people advocating violence towards a peaceful protestor.

I suspect most question the sincerity of his actions since he already got "paid" and chose to engage in his little protest now that his career is flailing. In addition, his opinion is no more valuable than the average Joe (even though he is implying it is by subjecting people going to a football game to it). This is an "NFL" forum, not necessarily a "handicapping" forum.

An "NFL forum" fraught with racism it seems.

And yet, an "NFL" forum nonetheless. And since the original post was by a super moderator, I suspect it won't be moved to a different forum. Kap chose to make his protest during an NFL game, so it is an NFL issue.

Sorry, and I'm probable out of place.
But never seen a country (and was once the greatest) so scared to respect its own national anthem. I'm sorry but these young pucks today know nothing about sacrifice.
There is no other country in the world would disrespect its own nation song like this one.
It ironic as many other parts of the world would stone or execute you, makes it all the more reason to respect a nation that allow you to me moron.
Try living in the third world and maybe these idiots would appreciate what they have. Sorry not buying that it is a peaceful protest, just an attention getter that the public is buying

I have a lot of family and friends in the military, who have no problem with this. Although, they are educated and read about his message and reasoning (not all but majority). The next time you donate $1M to under privilaged kids then talk as at least re backing it up by doing the right things. Of course most of those bashing him have more of an issue with him then what Brown from the Giants did which says something...

I'm not the one on his dick, mentioning him every chance I get or caring about his stupid protest. People like you are. Hated by millions and apparently loved by millions considering his jersey sales... I care about football and want to get this useless garbage off the site, go to CNN...
