labor participation rate nosedives under Obama

the LPR always declines in a piss poor economy, so no surprise here

you want "fake news"? exhibit # 1, the least prepared man in the room decreased unemployment, now that's as fake as it gets

if the LPR remained constant, Obama's UE rate still > 7%, that would be 8 pathetic years with UE > 7%

Obama said 20 million people now have health insurance, then Tim Kaine said 30 million people have health insurance they can't even get their lie straight.

Trump did close the gap with the under 50k demographic, still lost 53-41, so that might be a sign some of these out of work citizens grew tired of the same old same old broken promises

If they want to work, that's better for Republicans

The fewer people looking to government for survival, the smaller the democratic base will become

People over age 16 who are no longer working or even looking for work, for whatever reason (retirement, school, personal preference, or gave up)

Part of it is that there are simply more people than ever before in the 16-20 and 65+ categories that are always going to have low participation rates. If Republicans improve our health care system and more of us live longer, the 63% labor participation rate will drop even lower.

The other part is that of those four reasons listed, three of them are good ones, while only one of them is bad. It's odd that no one asks the most important question: are we working less by choice or by force? If it's the latter, then these statistics are showing how much better our country is becoming.

In 2016, the number of long-term unemployed declined by 263,000.

That's definitely a bright spot
