However at this rate it'll be 10 years before they compete for another Super Bowl. Tonight was simply another example of the same ol', same ol' Raider defense on display the past couple of seasons.
Play great for fifty-five minutes but can't make the big stop in the crunch.
How the fuck can their defense play as well as they did, series after series, stop after stop and then when they have the opposition pinned back inside its' own fifteen yard line and needing a TD to win with under two minutes remaining in the game, allow them to go the fucking distance?
Say what you want but this loss will feel like or feel worse than a 37-7 beating. This was the game the Raiders needed to kickstart a successful season. Home field, division foe but lose in disgusting fashion, at least from a defensive standpoint.
Can anyone explain what the Oakland linebackers were doing laying back so far, like on that critcal third and thirteen situation they surrendered at a crucial time in the fourth quarter?
Losses like this take away any satisfaction in how they played. Hell they played like this from time to time last season as well and the result was exactly the same in some of their defeats. Until the Raiders can put the fucking clamps down and create a turnover, an int or a key third or fourth down sack, nothing has really changed for this team and that's the plain reality.
Tough disgusting gut-wrenching loss!!!

Thumbs down to the zebras and the league for screwing the 'Godfather' and his team over once again.

The loss is 100 percent the fault of Russell who looked completely clueless 90 percent of the time. He's way too dumb to play QB in the NFL.

Not its not, but I agree he is soo sketchybut the fucking typical Raider Defense plays off of everyone in the 4th quarter happens every game.

to be honest they could be really good with a diff qb. b4 the game everyone was talking about how the chargers would put up like 40, well the raiders D kept them to 24 (and they barely got that). theyve got a good Oline, young but talented wr, and a very good rushing attack. problem is the owner loves russels arm. i can honestly say the raiders wont go anywhere in the league until big al gives up his ownership duties

I dont get it either. You play great defense the entire game, but when you need a stop you let little checkdown throws turn into 15 yd gains and a first down because your defense cannot adjust correctly. If i was a raiders fan, id be irate right now. They should have won

yea their defense didnt show up that last drive, russell didnt lose the game for them but he sure didnt do a whole lot to help them win, although he looked as a lead blocker on that reverse play

everyone loves to bag on JaMarcus....he played fine and is slowly improving. their WRs are very young. only the TE is worth a crap right now. running game is good. they will get there but maybe not this year.

the more Al Davis leaves this team alone and lets others make decisions, the better.

they're not improving at all, they're just as dreadful as ever. their defense looked decent last night only because of the chargers' OL problems. the raiders will still not be able to stop the run this year even with the addition of seymour (who will be held hostage via franchise tag if he doesn't sign a new contract).

russell is a fat pig with no leadership skills, terrible work ethic, and zero football IQ and will be out of the league in a few years.

mcfadden and heyward-bey will both be very expensive, occasional highlight footage fodder. the first is a one dimensional runner with a low IQ, and the second can't catch or run pro routes, and can be easily jammed at the LOS. murphy is the only bright spot at WR - otherwise it's where WR's go to die or lose their mind.. moss, walker, etc.

this team will be especially terrible on the road where their collective lack of football IQ and discipline really starts to shine. they win no more than 4 games this year, but at least they won't be able to draft another 1st round bust in 2011.

Call me crazy but for the 3 snaps Gradkowski played he looked far more comfortable running the offense than Jamarcus minus the few nice plays he made

Most know I'm a diehard silver & black bleeding member of The Nation.

but how could anyone call this fine?

If he didn't have Zach Miller his numbers woulda been even more dreadfull. Add to the fact that 57 of 208 passing yards came from one play.

Sorry, but if he doesn't show improvement by week 6 he's officially a bust.
