Are really pissing me off. Why can't we get some intelligent discussion going without these idiots who have probably never left their state, resorting to their racist ways.
If this continues i'm not gonna keep wasting my time here.

The best way to reduce ignorant racist posts is to not respond to them in any way.

Alex,

A lot of things I say can be construed as racist. I would also say that I am one of a few that have lived among Arabs and specifically Muslims. I understand that these aggressive views aggravate you but at the same time if what is being said is accurate, why do they have to visit the Middle East to give their voice credence? Muslims are like any people. They have spineless, obsequious servants that won't stand up to the hard-liners. It's the same thing in this country. We just happen to have more of an equal balance between peaceniks and hard-liners.

Anymore, I see the futility of progress when political divisiveness is so prevalent which is one of the biggest flaws in any type of democratic government.

That picture reminds me of the commercial with the skunky beer where they go "Bitter Beer Face!"

One of the racists is you, A2345exxx. We've put up with your anti-Americanism for quite some time, although you've made more of an effort to disguise it lately. I haven't forgotten your dogshit "USA needed a slap n the face (9/11) post," among others.

I am far from racist. To criticise a country's foreign policy is a fundamental right of every human being.
But on the other hand, to say that a whole ethnicity/religion/geographical region should be blown apart and cleansed if plain wrong and racist.

I am a strong believer in freedom of speech but to say things like that is just plain wrong and it should be the role of moderates to stand up to such ignorance and racism.

AMERICAN: I haven't forgotten your (A2345's) dogshit "USA needed a slap n the face (9/11) post," among others.

BAR: I'm not sure if I was a member here when he posted that alleged comment, but it sounds right on point to us.

We did need a wakeup call as to how it is in other parts of the world. Too bad the response from our leadership was to just agitate even more violence that is now rippling right back on my friends and neighbors.

America lost over 2500 of its own Sep 11, 2001 and responses from Wash DC have led to almost 1000 more being added to the body pile since then. A few more months and we'll top the 2500.

Don't know about you, but when it comes to setting statisical records, I preefer to see it in Home Run chases instead of dead human beings.

But I'm funny that way.

I think it's "just plain wrong" to sit here and read how you and barman rationalize that the U.S. "needed" the dispicable events of 9/11. You can both talk like that over at Starbucks with your liberal latte friends, but you let that out in the wrong company you will get rightfully pummeled.

Barman: Pick a side. Quit trying do tap dance on the fence. Do you sympathize with the Muslim-extremists or are you on America's side?

I have never said once that the US "needed" the dispicable events of 9/11. If refering to my 'slap in the face' analogy, it was badly phrased to say the least but my intention was not that. More of a non-violent "wake up call".

I can't speak for Barman.

I stand by my statement above that we needed a 'wakeup call' so that American citizens could better see how good they have it and how quickly it might turn horrible if we were not sensitive to world realities.

That being said, if I could have been the one to choose what kind of WUC we received (and of course I could not possibly), it would not have been quite so horrendous as the attack from the 19 hijackers (16 Saudis) on Sep 11, 2001.

Hell, Oklahoma City was a big enough wakeup call as far as I was concerned and the death toll was about 6% of 9/11.

As for the fence I supposedly walk on, I am for Americans using our military to defend their turf and for taking smart self-defensive steps.

I am against using our military to invade sovereign countries, regardless of how we (and I) might view their current government leaders as abhorent and despotic.

I understand that you and some others view the invasion of Iraq as qualifying for my first point of view. Therefore your support of the current military campaign is understandable.

But please understand that I do NOT view the current military operations in the Mideast as serving our self-defensive interests. So therefore you might better understand why I call for us to remove our forces.

I have no stake in what the Muslim extremists do over there, nor do I have a stake in what the supposed Iraqi 'moderates' do over there.
It's clear that the biggest danger either group poses is to themselves and those in close proximity, given that they do not possess weaponry that can be deployed more than a few miles in distance.

I'd love to see them come to a peaceful consensus. But if they insist on warring against each other and practicing pre-20th century religion and social policies, I want them to do it among their own and leave us out of it.

Oh wait, they didn't ask us to be involved in the first place, did they? So therefore we don't need their indulgence in letting our troops just pull their happy asses out of there and come home where their (our troops) valuable resources and manpower can be put to better use.

I invite you to reconsider the Bushism "You're either for us or against us". This axiom implies that the Bushies cannot possibly be wrong about anything they're doing.

If you DO believe that, then I can understand why my point of view is frustrating, yeah even 'treasonous'.

American,

I am one of only a few that think this country had to let those attacks happen whether or not they knew in advance. My reason being that people need to be shown things to believe. What's really sad is it's not 3 years later and their resolve is already shaken. I feel for all the people that lost loved one's on that day but somehow foiling 4 hi-jackings wouldn't have the same lasting effect IMO. I bet after a week or two everyone would've moved on to other matters even though the threat still existed.

People don't want to acknowledge these extremist's and their ideologies but also don't want to get their hands dirty and thus leave it up to others to solve.

Probably never in my life will I aggree with the views of individuals like Lander and A2345exxx because I tend to be much more conservative. Nevertheless, I will insult or degrade because I respect everyone's opinion even if it is against my own personal beliefs.

What happens is that in this forum it becomes into a never ending story regarding discussions because both sides on a particular issue will never aggree. It is simply funny to read the posts and I can't help replying here and there.
