Rachel Alexandra....I'll be the sucker

I have read numerous threads, blog posts, and news paper articles about how R A should not be in this race because of this reason or that reason. I understand that she is coming off of short rest, going up against the boys, and not a favorable post position. But honestly I don't care. The speed figures have shown that she has run faster then all of the males running against her and she will be carrying five pounds less. The Preakness is all about speed and she has it. Could Big Drama go out to the lead and burn her out? Sure. Could they force her to the outside rail? Sure. I know I could be dead wrong on this, but that's why it is gambling. I really don't think she will lose. Obviously this is horse racing and anything is possible, but I will take the 9-5 odds and pound it.

It's called experience. When you been around the horse racing block long enough, you know when a horse has no chance of winning a race. RA has no chance of winning this race.

How about the Thorograph numbers? RA earned a -4 while Mine That Bird earned a - 3/4. RA in my opinion will win this race by six lengths or more....she is by far the best horse in this field. Good Luck with your wagers. I do not believe the sex of the horse matters at all. RA is as big as the boys in here.

Since you're familiar with Thorograph then you must also be familiar with the study he did with 3yos running a negative number before July 1st.

For the ones that raced within 30 days of earning that negative number, 22% ran an off number and 61% x'ed.

Can she win yes.Going in she's the fastest horse.

But why would I take 7/5 with all of these negative variables?

If I want to take a price like that I can find a short field at Golden Gate or Arlington etc.
I'm going to pass this race and just watch it as a fan.
