I quit my decent paying job with GREAT benefits to go full time into the mortgage business...taking a BIG risk here, but figure I should do it while i'm still "young". Tomorrow is my last day at my job. Wish me well please...

I thought you might release a winning system that would allow you to retire as a gambler. OH well. GL in your new vocation.

I have a friend that owns a mortgage company in Florida. Raked in over $300,000 last year.

No I am not from England, but I am from NEW England.

Actually, I am going to work for a friend of mine that has been in the business about 5 years and started his own Mortgage Co. March 1st. He too has been making in the $300k range but the last few years have been GREAT. I don't expect to make that much now.

i heard a couple of mortage sales agents
they have spent 20 years and they
come to the conclusion that selling mortage packages are more difficult than selling a betting account...

sherman,

i know a couple guys too that make around 300k annually in the mortgage business. They say first couple years are always the toughest, these guys have been at it for about 10 years and they are at the point where they no longer make cold calls and chase business with builders and Agents any more - they mostly get referrals coming to them.

Good luck to you and the red Sox.

congrats on your career change.

Your timing could not be worse. Interest rates are on the rise and refi is going to be way down for quite a long time.

With hard work you sould be able to make it. Good luck

Go get'em tiger. You can always go back to work so don't be nervous and ignore those who try to tell you that you'll never make it.

You should try to push folks who have adjustables into fixed. They are going to see their first increase in years soon plus I think its a smart move.
