Does any one here use Quick Books? If so hope someone can help me. I need to buy a copy of quick books, and I want to be able to use the program on 3 different computers (home, work, and my laptop), and save the files on my server, and the files off the server. Which version of Quick Books pro would I need?

Thanks for the help!

JTREE...My first thought, as always, was "You should try an open source clone software program instead of paying multiple costs for essentially duplicating software."

Not knowing much about Quick Books, I discovered the following internet chat thread. Note that it is being conducted among Linux users, but there are several references to Windows-based solutions as well.

Oh, and if you have not already checked out OpenOffice.org to use their free, open source clones of MS Excel etc, I highly recommend if in fact Excel would be a program suitable for what you're trying to accomplish.

Once Again Into The Netherworld W/A Q

Just got my first real PC. How essential is "spyware & anti virus" software? BB is trying to sell me this. As stated in a previous thread I won`t be getting into any esoteric activities, i.e. no "games" etc. just pain old Forums, emails, Spt Bk action and soforth! I have @ least 3 close relatives offering to set up the system, since BB wants $230 to do it, I`ll pass on that. There`s nothing that can`t be fixed I guess. Boy talk about a virgin. Thanks in advance.

I have QuickBooks Premier but I think you can do everything you ask with QuickBooks Pro

FWIW, I hate 2007+ versions of QuickBooks.....this database server thing sucks ass.....if you have an older version....i recommend 2006

Anti-spyware and anti-virus are both available for free off the web once you're home, installed and running.

Several solid free programs (aka "Open Source") and imho, no need to buy it at retail price from any computer dealer.

report back when you're running the new PC and I'll point you to the programs to which I reefer.

AVG makes a good product for both anti-spyware and anti-virus

CCleaner is another good one for anti-spyware though I personally suggest Un-checking COOKIES when doing the routine Clean so you don't have to refresh all your log-ins in the event you use a lot of sites requiring registration.

SpyBot Search & Destroy another good anti-spyware

Everything available at Download.com

I have not opened an email attachment in at least nine years without first contacting the Sender to assure they themselves sent it.

Many virus programs can reach into a computer, harvest the email address book and then Send bogus mails which appear to have been sent by a familiar person.

Using Yahoo or Hotmail can be a great assist for such risks since their servers have built-in anti-virus protection scanning all emails.
