If a book has a player that has lost over 40k over the last year. Then he wins over 100k in one night, on 9 and 10 team parlays. Then the book checks him out....and realizes that the name he is using is false...the address he is using is false...what should the book do?

Lets face it, books wont and don't check out customers for no reason. The only way books check on customers (especially internet bettors) is if there is something that brings their attention to such a player....i.e. chargebacks...unusual depositing patterns and withdrawls....or big winner.....I am sure there are more reasons but the point is they dont check until they have a reason.

Now, does the book pay this player? Is the book ablidged to pay the player? rules clearly state you must use your own name and address when making wagers.

Waiting for you opinions.

Thanks

What no replies.....you have to be kidding...is this question to hard for the player to nswer...or the bookmakers to answer.

Its a fictitious question, why not get an open discussion on the matter...so next time..we dont have to bash an inocent player or inocent book.

False name? The money has to be sent to the player who's name is on the account. Not sure why any legit player who put a fair whack (40K) through the window would want to give any bogus info.Is it possible to think the 40k in loses was'nt his to begin with? maybe it was a chineese guy living in California's money. Addresses and phone numbers are a bit different but any player giving false info will throw up a red flag.

Any 9 to 10 team parlay bettor that already blew 40g's and happened to get lucky one night and hit 100g's in parlays I'd double or triple his parlay risk amount

I agree...so pay the player whos name appears on the account?

What if the name tht appears on the acont cant be varified? With a false name and addy...how can a book be sure they are sending it to the legit winner?

Frankly, I don't think books care, this business is about money and not names or addresses. And with such amounts the probability of a scam is minimal.

There should be loyalty from book to players and there should be loyalty from player to book.

There are plenty of reasons why I would consider giving a book a fake name but it has nothing to do with scamming the book.IRS,FBI,STATE police, . You know damn well that if the US put presssure on one of this offshore countrys, they would give the US anything they wanted.

INCOGNITO..........going by your example......of course the man gets paid in full......

hes lost 40k.....hits for 100k.....no problem there

say he uses a false name and address?? and thats the only thing that is suspect..

if its sharp action....maybe cut his limits
square action...make him call all bets in...guy might be hiding it from his wife....or something....

either way i let him know that we know the info isnt legit..

Any book that doesnt pay because of a false name is a stiff book that is looking for reason not to pay. There is no reason other than banking convenience to give a book your real name.

We never know the REAL names of the owners or the managers of the books so it should work both ways right? If they get the cash either through WU, Neteller or what not, (except for Credit cards because of chargebacks), but if the cash is real then there should be no probs if the book does not know your real name or not. Like the poster said in this thread, when your posting up or losing the books dont care if your John Smith or not, its just when it comes time for them to pay then they like to make you jump through hoops.

Just like this Revere situation that just happened. At one point Wsex or was it shrink that said the the bettor gave a false name or whatever. If he got the money to them through neteller then pay him right back through neteller whether he is who he says he is or not.
