A.at what certain point did the Democratic party lose the trust of the American people or we'll call it power?

B. Do you think the transfer of power happen because of Clinton's bad choices or moral faults?

C. Even with the boom of the 90's why was America scared to put Gore in office since Clinton was such a great President in most eyes of your party?

D. Does the Democratic Party have any different solutions for the war in Iraq, deficit, immigration, energy policies, etc

E. With all the bickering going on in this great Country about poll's this, and war that.....what is the true solution that the Democratic party will suggest we go by in 06,08???

your answers are greatly appreciated.

I think if Gore had any charisma, he would have been elected. Let's face it, ideas don't win election, charisma and pr wins. That was before. At this point, the democratic party has neither ideas or charisma. However they might win the next election simply by default. If either McCain or Rudy get the Rep nod, they should be fine, because they have done a good job of distancing themselves from Jr. Right now there is a vacuum in the Dem party, and I don't think Hillary is the answer.

As to the future, we need some new blood, who are liberal concerning social issues and conservative when it comes to the economy. Someone is gonna inherit a mess. I think a platform of straightening out are problems here at home instead of trying to rule the world, may go far at this point in time. We shall see.

It's a shame that it is so difficult in the US to have a viable third party option. A true centre party would dominate, a group that would take care of the economy and the people.

Sadly the Democrat\Republican debate has turned into a "I can't support what the other guy supports" but I believe most people fall between the two extremes. A government that could successfully find the middle ground would be in power for a long time.

Bill, couldn't agree more. However I think we are getting to the point where a 3rd party actually may make inroads. I think there are alot of people who have had it with the status quo in America where very little get accomplished.

i believe the clinton sexcapade did hurt the democrats in the long run. anger against clinton kept gore from winning (even though he had more vote. being a woman chaser and his ego were what caused the backlash against clinton. although if he ran against bush next week clinton wins.

In case you weren't paying attention, the 2000 election was basically a dead heat that ended being decided by the Supreme Court. Gore actually had a noticeable edge in the nationwide tally. To say that America was scared to put Gore in office is innacurate and a complete distortion. If it weren't for numerous events in Florida, including a ballot snafu in Palm Beach County and the purging of tens of thousands of legitimate voters from the rolls by Katherine Harris, Gore would have won and there would have been no dispute about the result.

Does any of this ring a bell? Maybe you want to rephrase this question.

I agree Cut but what I was trying to point out is why would it even be a dead heat against a Gov. from Texas? I agree with some of the points that Kill,Judge, have made but the other questions have gone un-answered????

I'll try and touch on some of the others tommorrow. I do think some of the language in these questions is not necessarily in line with reality.

Here are my thoughts as a Canadian on the outside looking in.

I think the Democrats lost the respect somewhere during the primaries to find a candidate for the 2004 election, they couldn't find a strong candidate, or at least someone who could compare to Bill Clinton. In 2000 you knew Gore was the obvious choice and he did win the popular vote but his Depressed Bearded man routine he was playing over the next year killed a lot of respect the general public may have had for him. He became a punch line to too many jokes. Clinton despite his faults, was a charismatic leader, and in these elections Charisma is huge, whomever the Democrats chose in 2000 (Gore) and 2004 (Kerry) was going to be compared to Clinton. Neither man could come close to working a crowd nor could they invoke the passion President Clinton did.

Judge with the most accurate post in 2005: I think if Gore had any charisma, he would have been elected. Let's face it, ideas don't win election, charisma and pr wins.

Ya need to win an election?? Hire Rove as he could make Charlie Manson look electable
