Question for NBA Total Bettors

I have noticed that the first half total for many Utah Jazz games have been lower than they should be given the game total(84.5 vs San Antonio today when the game total is 172.0). Any particular reason for this discrepancy?

I show Utah going under in the 1st half in 31 of 49 games...and under in the 2nd half in 21 of 49 games with 1 push (one caveat -- I exclude overtime for 2nd half tallies as I feel it's a more accurate representation even though I realize overtime counts for betting purposes).

Utah is also notorious for late game fouling when trailing -- almost like it's a college game. Early in the season, this late game foul parade swayed a number of totals.

Thanks for your reply. The lower than usual first half total makes sense now. It's a given in college games, but I've never seen this in an NBA game(where the first half total is quite a bit lower than half the game total).

Ironically, Utah provided a prime example tonight of what they've been doing a lot of this season. Low scoring game throughout until the final minute follies pushed the 2nd half over:

Today's Utah/Spurs game total is 169, but the first half total is only 81.5. I've never seen anything like that in the NBA before....
