Question about death and afterwards...

Why would someone want to believe that after death you end up a bag a bones and not floating around in the blue sky and still with ya.

I guess what im asking on something that cant be proved why believe the negative or depressing side?:think2:

Question is nearly impossible to answer if leaving religion out of it is a requirement. Personally I would rather rest and be done with it than sit around for eternity watching my family suffer and die meanwhile all the a-holes of the world are hooking up with hot chicks and im sitting on a cloud without a weiner.

Biggest waste of time is sitting around talking and praying to the imaginary man in the sky. I could be sitting around gambling on football or jerking off or something productive or fun like that.

Because life is about meaning. Jerking off and gambling are just activities we do to pass the time and try convince ourselves that this world doesn't suck.

It's a cold, dark ugly world full of suffering for all. This life only has so much potential. Without an afterlife, the best you can do is make a few bucks and suffer less than others before you and all your loved ones die.

I don't know how people that don't believe in an afterlife remain sane.
